The service was amazing! I just really didn't care for the food. Not sure if was because we had a later reservation, but I was very dissatisfied with the quality + taste.
Maybe because it was new years ... food wasn't that good and service was really slow. Again the service being slow, maybe because of NYE but the food was bland and not too pleasing.
Sent a note to management and ZERO response. Highly unprofessional. My sister and I went to dinner at Kinzie on NYE, thinking we would have a great dinner to usher in 2026. While some things were good, I felt like I needed to write in to provide some feedback on this meal and our unusual lackluster experience. Firstly, the good – the steak was cooked well (albeit not served as hot as we usually enjoy) & the wedge salad was on point. The veggie sides also were done well as was the cocktail shrimp. Unfortunately, there were a few missteps that make me reluctant to return, especially after being forced to pay gratuity on this meal. The biggest miss was, as you can see on the check, we were only able to enjoy one drink at dinner, because neither of our servers (was not clear who our server was) never came by after appetizers were finished, nor when the entrees came to deliver our 2nd drink, although we had ordered these well into eating our appetizers. So, we ate our entrée (steak/prawn) without any wine. The prawn was severely overcooked and inedible, and again, the steak was not served at a warm enough temperature. The whole evening started off great, but went downhill very quickly. We did get the prawn comped but it really was disappointing to not have wine with our steak. Will never return to this establishment, including business lunches for my customer that is next door.
Overall less than satisfying experience. Quality of service and food is not up to the level of upscale steakhouse they claim to be. By far the worst restaurant I have been to in a while. Not worth the money, will not be coming back.
It was an amazing experience! Another restaurant in Chicago lost our reservation and we were scrambling to find a table for 8 at 6pm on a Saturday. The Kinzie Chophouse was so warm and helped us have a wonderful company party!! The food was amazing!! We will definitely be back!!
Enjoyed a four hour holiday lunch with best friend from B-school (holiday tradition!). Started with a bottle of Bollinger and caviar service...and on from there. Edy was an excellent server and sommelier.
Attended a business dinner. Overall, pretty disappointing considering the other reviews. Biggest issue is they may run up the tab on you if you have a larger group. The wine will flow like water, but with a higher price point. I searched through historical reviews and found a similar issue in the past. The first course was a lobster bisque served cold and with no lobster in it. It took about 30 minutes to get the first course. I think it was supposed to be served warm. Second, the main course (halibut) was excellent but the sides were cold. For a restaurant at this price point, the food should be hot. And the service should be experienced. We got neither. All I can say is the consensus with our group is that we won’t be back to Kinzie’s.
Great service, excellent food, ambiance was perfect. Wine selections were on point. Would definitely return.
Our table of four was put in a function room thst was quite cool/cold with no other diners.
My husband and I visited Chicago in October 2025! The Kinzie Chophouse was a must do on our list during our week visiting from Portland, Oregon as tourists! We love Chicago and definitely plan another trip! The Kinzie Chophouse is outstanding! The food was delicious and the attention by staff was first class. I became obsessed with the roasted vegetables in lemon vinaigrette - it was the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend Kinzie Chophouse!

Food was good, not great. They added the tip which I didn't appreciate because we aren't trying to not tip. It almost felt like we were profiled or forced to give money. Tips are earned with good service and up to the customer.
I had to make a last minute reservation and am so glad with the food and experience tonight. The steak selection was awesome. Service was as good as the food, which was excellent. I will certainly next time I am back in Chicago.

A truly amazing experience at Kinzie Chophouse, a fantastic women-owned steakhouse.
We started with a selection of appetizers to share: the grilled octopus, pork belly, and Merlot wine-baked brie. The grilled octopus was a standout—I absolutely loved it!
The owner stopped by our table and gave us an introduction of each meat kind that was offered on their menu. However, I didn't order the steak this time since I had a lot of meat lately. So for my main course, I had the lobster bisque and the squid ink pasta. The squid ink pasta was phenomenal, offering a perfect kick of spice. It was truly excellent.

I celebrated my anniversary here and it was absolutely incredible. The food, the service, the romantic seat next to the French door swith the rain coming down. Excellent!
