Service was impeccable. Appetizers were not only wonderful but beautifully presented. Filets were good but i expected better. Desserts were fabulous and presented in a lovely manner. Overall a great experience !
Kinzie Chophouse doesn't owe me anything! The food, our server (Edy Orozco), I've even had an old fashion named after me which was amazing!! The entire experience was priceless!!!
Wait staff was excellent and friendly. I'm sorry that I can't say the same for the people greeting guests lat the front door. I found them to be rude and distasteful. The food was not very good. I will never return. This was one of my favorite spots for business luncheons and dinners for many years. I'm sorry to see the drastic change.
We initially had a reservation for the dining room but opted to sit and eat at the bar because a nice table wasn't available. We were told that the kitchen was “overwhelmed or really busy” so there would be no alterations to any menu items. We ordered a salad, the octopus, and two soups and everything was cold and almost inedible. The manhattan I ordered left a lot to be desired as well. When we left, we immediately went somewhere else to have dinner. We couldn't let this awful dinner end our beautiful date night. I can't believe $130 was wasted on such a terrible experience. I will never come back to Kinzie Chophouse again.
Unfortunately the service was not great. Upon being seated, we waited 20 minutes for a server for cocktails. One was walking by and we ended up asking them. It appeared our server had too many tables or they were sharing tables. He was quite rushed and never acknowledged the wait - which we would have been fine with a simple sorry for your wait. No one went over the menu or were available for questions. Disappointing. The steaks did have a lovely char to them and were good, the potato puree was great, and the grilled octopus appetizer. Service needs to catch up to the food
We had a delightful evening. The food was amazing, the service just as good. They were happy to split the meal for us as 16 ounces of the best sirloin I've ever had was more than enough to feed the both of us.
We have dined at the Kinzie Chophouse several times before and always enjoy it. This past weekend was the best so far. In spite of a busy holiday celebration evening, the staff was very helpful in taking care of a guest of ours who had a dietary restriction. They didn't even blink. The staff talked to our guest and got them fixed up with a wonderful dinner that they enjoyed immensely. Thank you for your understanding and support! As always, the food and drink was spectacular.
Amazing service experience! Everyone make you feel so confortable. Also many Spanish speakers in case you are looking for a place where you want to bring your family who doesn't speak English
Like many upmarket steak houses, everyone knows you're paying 2-3x what you would for the experience, and quality. After all, it's a piece of steak, how hard can it be? Apparently very hard. Unfortunately Kinzie Chophouse falls way short on both fronts. Steak was overcooked and tough. Wine was overpriced, and although the service picked up toward the end that was passable too.
Dined here for 25th wedding anniversary and let them know it was an anniversary when I made the reservation. Went out of their way to make the night special. Food and service were top notch.

We were entertaining clients, appetizers were great service was great we got our food and 3 of the 6 steak were cook wrong 2 we're over cooked, one really bad. The first steak was replaced like in 30 seconds, and the other two were replaced right away. After that everything else was great! Would definitely go back!
My friend is a pescatarian and her first time in Chicago. We were starting our vacation and I wanted her to experience why I love my hometown. I surprised her and took her to Kinzie. It was the best start to our vacation. The food and service was phenomenal. We will definitely be returning!!!
Never disappointed with a meal here. Steak is always flavorful and cook to desired temperature. They do well accommodating children that just want buttered noodles. The service is nicely done. Very friendly, not overly intrusive but also available when you need something. The cake for mother's day was a nice touch.
The young maitre d' had a horrible disposition! She was like 18-22 and should have been working at a fast food restaurant. The manager had to be her father or BF because he didn't do a thing to correct her. If management keeps this person on the door for long,it will eventually ruin their business. Waiter and the food was fine, but the night was ruined by getting into with her at the beginning of dinner.
That was the worst dining experience of my life. If I could give it negative stars I would. On Valentine's Day, without any crowd around 7pm, we were ushered to the back of the restaurant. No problem. Takes about 15 minutes before someone greets us and takes our order (it was the terrible Valentine's Day set menu). Not only did the service and food rank among the worst my wife and I have ever had but we happen to notice that the only people in the back room of the restaurant besides one other couple were black, including myself. If this was a freak coincidence then you only have the terrible food and service to worry about. If it's the former then I hope those doors aren't open much longer because that was astonishing. Oh, and wife had to send food back twice and still undercooked and terrible. Will never be coming back and will go out of my way to tell people to avoid this place.
