Amazing food, cute and super friendly servers. If you want great food in a family owned restaurant atmosphere, this is it. Some of the best Little Village has to offer.

My husband and I just had our first experience at this wonderful family-owned restaurant, and it certainly won't be our last. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the most welcoming and warm family—the atmosphere immediately made us feel right at home.

The food was absolutely the star of the show. It wasn't just delicious; it was genuine, heartwarming home cooking. You can tell every dish is prepared with passion and care. If you're looking for comforting, authentic flavor, this is the place.

And the service? If I could give it more than 5 stars, I definitely would. The attention, kindness, and professionalism were truly 10 out of 10.

We are so glad we finally found this hidden gem. Thank you for making our first visit so memorable. We are already looking forward to becoming regulars!

Misleading closing time. I arrived at least 40 mins before closing and the store was closed. No one picked up my call and was completely disappointed. I drove an hour for nothing and wasted my time. Make sure to call the store ahead before getting there or better yet have a reservation.

My friend and I went there for lunch and it was great. I ordered a caldo de res and it was amazing. The server was charismatic and made our lunch time entertaining with his suggestions. I would definitely go again soon!

I had an unforgettable time at La cocina de Irma. The staff has the BEST customer service. As soon as you step into Irma’s place you really feel the warmth of energy.

My chicken torta & chicken tacos were perfect. Great depth of flavor and great portion too!

We also received a complimentary serving of Papas bravas which were spicy but oh so delicious. I’d definitely order them during our next visit.

Our server who I believe is her son, was very charismatic and provided us with great recommendations.

This spot needs to be everyone’s go to for delicious food and wonderful service. They deserve all of their great reviews, check em out!

This place was amazing! The customer service was great and had a great atmosphere throughout the whole time there. The food was definitely the best Mexican food I’ve had so far in Chicago as a Chicago resident. Miguel was especially amazing as our server and provided great service throughout our time there.

Stopped in here for the first time and it did not disappoint. The menudo was amazing , super flavorful with that rich broth and tender meat, just like it should be. You can tell it’s made with care and tradition. I also got one of their jugos and it was so fresh and delicious, the perfect combo.

The place feels authentic and welcoming, and the people working there were really nice. Definitely coming back!

La Cocina de Irma is a true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. This family-owned restaurant delivers not just incredible food but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted like family by Miguel, Sophia, and the rest of the team. Their Menudo is the standout dish—rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced with a deep red chili base that speaks to its authenticity. The beef tripe is tender, and the broth is packed with depth, making it the ultimate comfort food. Whether you’re a longtime Menudo lover or trying it for the first time, this is the place to do it right. Beyond the Menudo, their menu is filled with traditional favorites that taste like they came straight from a home kitchen in Mexico. The care and tradition in every dish make La Cocina de Irma a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a genuine taste of Mexico. Highly recommended!
