What a hidden gem! Beautiful decor, amazing food & service. My husband and I had the guacamole and shrimp, steak, and chicken tacos. We have a new neighborhood favorite- highly recommend!!

Wonderfully inviting and quiet atmosphere; great, personalized service; good food all around. We enjoyed mole enchiladas with spinach, and rellenos with zucchini and onions. Prices reasonable - $20 - $32/person. Found this while driving on North Ave on a Sunday night. Highly recommended; we will return!

As a Mexican couple we would give La Encantada 5 stars.
Place is super nice and food, drinks and dessert are delicious!
As a downside we were talking to the table next to us (two American guys that know Mexico perfectly)
The lady owner Irma started yelling at us, calling us names, calling us priviledged and repeating all the lies that AMLO, the mexican president, has told his supporters for decades. Just because we were giving our point of view in this matter.
Mexico is on its way to become the next Venezuela unfortunatelly. USA started having problems with this narco-president already. But don't listen to Mexican people that has not experienced that yet, but listen to all the Venezuelan people that already lived the experience of a dictator and they hear the same words of those dictators (Chavez and Maduro) in this mexican president's mouth. Like following the play book.
Sorry I didn't want to make this post about politics, but just to make people aware that because the owner was not invited to the conversation she had no right to interfere and call us names. We were her customers, PERIOD.
I still tipped her 20% but promise ourselves not to go back ever again.
Only to pick up tge reading glasses we forgot trying to rush and exit from that unfontunate situation.

First time in that place.
It was worth trying.
Very few Mexican restaurants with dishes out of the ordinary.
The chiles en nogada, the chiles stuffed with cheese and the banana enchiladas were very good, which was what we tried this time.
We will return Mrs. Irma, it was a pleasure to visit your restaurant.

The mole enchiladas and chile relleno ancho were delicious! Plenty of vegetarian options if that’s what you’re looking for. Staff was friendly. They also have an amazing back patio with beautiful plants. It’s screened in, so it was possible to enjoy a delicious dinner and summer evening without bugs.

We had great dinner. The Chiles en Nogadas are the best we’ve had in the city. The mole and the Chile pablano were delicious. Highly recommend. No wait, nice patio.

I feel like nobody knows about this place, but it has awesome food. My family visited again this past Saturday night. It was quiet there but the food was wonderful, the service was attentive and very friendly, and the space is really cool, with beautiful art all over the walls. The food is really where it’s at, just absolutely delicious, with high-quality ingredients. It has to have some of the best traditional Mexican food in the city. We loved the nopalitos, the zucchini, the enchiladas verdes, and the asada taco. Good prices too. I hope more people discover this place because it deserves more love and attention.
Vegetarian options: Almost all they do can be prepared vegetarian. And lots of good veggie appetizers and stuff like that.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs and kids’ options

Great service and lovely atmosphere
Wonderful, authentic Mexican food and personal attention from Irma, the owner, makes La Encantada a great find near Humboldt Park and the 606. Varied menu, beautiful outdoor patio, and dining room filled with original art make this restaurant stand out from the rest. Worth checking it out for yourself!
