My favorite, favorite French bakery in the world! Croissants are even better than most I’ve had in Paris, I swear. I’ve been coming here for 10 years and the consistency and quality is unmatched.

I am a local. I love bread more than life, and there is an enormous amount of love in the bread and pastries La Fournette bakes. The baguettes are truly rustic, and craggily. They are deeply scored which creates lovely, beautiful ridges that deepen the flavor. The bite is so satisfyingly crackly, the glutenous gases that release create a crescendo of subtle flavors and textures.
You will be hard-pressed to find a more authentic, consistently high quality French bakery in Chicago. Favorites— Saucisson sandwich, the beignets, and, of course, the croissants.

I bring my family here when they visit overseas, I come here for a couple birthdays and more to come, I order macarons to offer as presents , and I don’t even live in Chicago. As their website says, thank you for providing real ingredients crafted into deliciousness while keeping the prices affordable. If they wanted to, they could’ve made it upscale , they could’ve charged higher and they could’ve opened more locations and run it like a business buisness vs your local neighborhood French bakery but they don’t. God bless you . Hope you read this ❤️🙏

Apple danish was really good! Beignet didn’t taste fresh but I would try it again
So happy to find authentic French almond croissants and chocolate croissants here 🥐
Fresh, flaky, and absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
customer service here is usually very good, but my recent visit was incredibly disappointing. the young woman behind the counter was slow, inattentive, irritated, and scattered. really brought the vibe and impression of the place down a lot :/

I just love this place so much. It's really the only place in the city where I can get the best and most fresh bread in the city. I have been ordering Grubhub regularly from them the last few years and I feel like I should give them a shout out!

Very delicious!!!
The only items I go to this place is the sead bread and almond croissant. The rest is ok, not so great.
The bread is crispy and baked fresh.
They are crowded and sometimes it's difficult to find seating spot so I take away my purchases and go eat at home.
