I want to share an experience I had at La Michoacana on Belmont and Menard in Chicago.
I went with my 3-year-old grandson, who was so excited to order his Nutella ice cream with sprinkles. The cashier served the ice cream and before she handed it to us, I went to pay with my card, she told me: “Cash only.”
I was surprised and asked if there was any sign in the store that said cash only. She admitted there wasn’t. I explained that I had no cash on me and asked why she hadn’t mentioned it before serving the ice cream. Instead of working with us, she simply said “Sorry, cash only,” and turned to take the next customer’s order—while holding the ice cream my grandson had been waiting for.
My grandson looked at me and asked why she wouldn’t give him his ice cream. I didn’t even know how to explain it to him.
We left disappointed and without the ice cream. I truly feel this was handled poorly. A simple sign or some communication up front would have avoided a heartbreaking moment for a little boy who just wanted his ice cream. He did not understand why we were walking away from the already served ice cream.
Management should have trained her better!
I brought him to Sweet Oasis and he enjoyed his ice cream there.

Don’t come here and save your money with this place. Ordered fresas con crema and they were watery and mango was mixed in it. I also ordered a quesadilla, CAME WITH NO MELTED CHEESE??! They put Parmesan cheese. Dry. No salsas. Plus service was terrible. Cold stare the whole time.

First time here the coconut ice cream was decent almond also. 2nd visit had Pistachio milkshake. Milkshake was kinda bitter. Honestly from the not so friendly service and mid offerings this place is firmly 3 star territory. Cannot rate it higher unless they improve product quality a decent amount. Service also needs improvement

Went on a late night trip! Happy I did to try a new location & happy to say it did not disappoint. Got an Aqua Fresca de Sandia, an elote & some chicharrón for about $10. I recommend, regardless of the reviews I read before choosing to come here.

Honestly I don’t like leaving any bad reviews, but me and my siblings just visited this location and got attitude from the employees. I understand it’s busy and packed but there no need to be rude. Not only that but the chips for the nachos were stale.
Horrible service. The place was so overpriced but we were already there so decided to give it a shot. Instant regret. They serve the ice cream as you order it but it isn’t handed to you until you pay. We ordered a bag of chips and corn in a cup after our ice cream, not knowing that they would hold it the whole time, and the ice cream just sat there for at least 10 minutes while we waited for everything to be prepared. The lady taking our order seemed annoyed every time something was added to our order. Finally, when we got to the register, I asked for an extra spoon and more lime and she looked upset that I asked for something and mumbled something under her breath to one of her coworkers as she went to grab the things we asked for. Paying insane prices is one thing, getting unpleasant treatment on top of overpaying for things just seals the deal to not going there again. It would be 1 star if it wasn’t because the $9 cup of corn was really good

The elotes suck i paid 5.75 for a regular elote. The one i had i didnt finish. It tasted stale and smothered in butter and mayo. The first lady didnt want to add on to my call in order even tho i waited in line to order again so she took the next customer and made me wait again for her coworker. But the second lady who spoke to me was really nice and fast. Her customer service is the only reason why this review isnt one star.
