Fyi La Oaxaquena closed, with its original owners no longer involved for over 5 years now. The current owners running their new restaurant la vina or something like that have no affiliation with the original La Oaxaquena. So please be advised, the current owners are using the original name to draw business.
This place used to be fantastic, after tonight's meal I will never eat here again. The food is not fresh, no flavor and not worth the price. I don't know if the owner sold out or got lazy, but this place went down hill fast. Now it's time to find a new Mexican restaurant.

Food was delicious! And service was great! We went to a concert at Avondale Hall and it was quick place to have dinner before the event.

If you are looking for authentic and good Mexican food, this is the spot. Amazing Lengua tacos, and the rice and beans are as authentic as you can get. I also ordered the empanadas to go, they tasted so good the next day after toasting in my air fryer.

La Oaxaqueña was excellent. The place is now known as La Viña and is not worth the price or time. The food is bland, greasy, and chewy. They screwed up one order causing additional wait. Two of the entrees (empanadas) made my family queasy almost immediately. I don’t see this place managing to stay open with such poor service and expensive lackluster food. I’d have rather spent our $70 At Taco Bell.

Update your google seo. Fr i want a taco and it says you're open and you're not. It is business 101 to at least post accurate hours. Smh

I got food poisoning from here. It was awful.
Also… My steak was grey and the chips had no salt.

Walked in and the waitress rolls her eyes at me with a dirty look, and doesn’t even greet me.. just stand there by the cashier.. felt so unwelcome and she thought I was a door dash person. lol I just left.

Waited over 50 min for my order which was pollo en mole. The chicken was extremely dry the rice was undercooked and they use a short grain rice. I made a taco out of the sauce and chicken leg thinking it was a darker piece and would be juicer but that was a fail. I don't mind waiting for good quality food. But this just wasn't it.

Second time here, and definitely, I'll come back as many times as I drive close by. It worth stopping for lunch in here. I highly recommend anything from the house specialties menu.
