Just bought my supply of Lady Di's cookies. My first visit to the bakery and little shop. I've enjoyed the butter and peanut butter cookies for years. These need to be a Chicago Gem. That's how good they are.
They are pretty good, pretty damn close to the original cook, but not spot on. But you won't be disappointed in them, they are a nice size and have a nice thickness to them, and most of all them moist and make you feel you are eating the real thing. I order a full case of butter and case of peanut butter. I think I will start ordering these for family holidays, I know they would much rather eat these cookies that cake all the time.
Have purchased and enjoyed these cookies over a decade but within the last year the taste isn't the same. What's happened to the original recipe? I'm hesitant to purchase future products. Lady Di's now DON'T measure up to the Salerno butter cookies. I'm very disappointed as I pride myself in supporting good black-owned products!. ?
