My only issue is that the menu, not a lot of food options. If u like goat or oxtails, u will have more options to try. I had the red snapper & it was fire! A great portion & quite tasty.

It was not cheap BUT even my cheapskate brother was promising to come back. The value for the food, facility and staff was there. They were warm and friendly. The WORST food item we had was still good...it just wasn't as good as the others. Cabbage and kale greens...on point. Corn souffle...yes sir. The griot and stewed goat...smacking. pikkliz...goodness, they were just right with the kale greens. We'll be back and we're telling other people now to come by there. It's legit. I already was told to come through on NYE for the soup joumou. They had ran out so I couldn't order any that night.

The food was excellently prepared and tasted good. We had the Accra for appetizer and for the main entree, the red snapper, the oxtails and the chicken wings. Accra tasted great with the dipping sauce. Love the decor inside and outside. Unfortunately not so much for the serving platters in place of actual plates, constantly had to keep the sauce from dripping on my lap. Compliments to the chef for great tasting food and quick service. Can't wait to taste the rest of the menu!

I dined with friends 12/18 around 3pm. Our thought was to arrive when the restaurant open so that we receive fresh food and not run into the "We're sold out of xxx." The decor in the restaurant is beautiful! ? as for the food, I ordered the goat pot pie, bbq shrimp (my appetizer) Haitian greens (which is kale greens) and rice. My rice was overcooked, the kale greens were awful and the crust of my pot pie was overcooked! The meat in the goat pie tasted like beef stew. I've eaten at the girl & the goat restaurant (located in chicago) and enjoyed all of the goat dishes (goat empanadas, goat butter, etc) this pot pie didn't taste like goat meat... as for my shrimp they were perfectly cooked but the sauce was heavy handed, imo. My friend ordered Mac and cheese. She let me try it and when I tell you it was stiff and lacked flavor, I was so happy I didn't order. Another friend in my party said her wings had little meat on them and tasted like jerk wings. ? Another friend in out party ordered the chicken and dumplings but it wasn't a dumpling that you think is cream based. (It was tomato based) I am asking for the chef to please taste everything before it is served to the customer. Lastly, customers be sure to check your bill before you pay for your meal because you want the server to take off the $10 hold they applied to your reservation to secure your reservation. ?

Great location with adequate available safe parking. Inviting ambiance with friendly, informative staff. Menu is replete with exciting, exceptional choices. I plan to return often, to explore the offerings.

We went to Lior's for dinner last night. This restaurant is a hidden gem on the South Side. The ambience was great and the environment was pleasing. We both ordered different entree's so that we could sample the various dishes. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the different items on the menu. She was able to let us know which dishes were mildly spicy or which dishes were vegetarian as opposed to vegan. Overall, my date and i enjoyed ourselves and we'll be back.

Atmosphere was very pleasing. Staff was pleasant. Service was fast. Food could have been hotter. Overall great experience. Once they get a liquor license I expect a bigger bar crowd and bar food.

I would definitely return. The food was delicious overall (though at times a little salty). We had more than a few mix ups with our order, these were remedied by our server to the best of her ability. I regret that they don't sell alcohol, but the food made up for it. I appreciate the Haitian history they promote throughout the restaurant. Overall good experience!

I must say that my guest and I were totally taken back by the food and service that we received from the restaurant. I love my meal and how great the hostess and waitress was to us being first timers. I will definitely be back to visit sooner to sample the menu more.

appetizers came out after the entree's, sides came out cold. food was bland we were told by waitress that there was no more goat pot pies. but once we were getting ready to leave the waitress told two regulars that came in that they had 3 or 4 pot pies left for the day. which would make since when we came in at 5pm and you just opened at 4pm but your out of pot pies. also bomb shrimp over cooked. needless to say will never go again. the ambiance is great tho

Definitely love the food here. It's nice to have a dine in restaurants that give and service good and high quality food on the south side. Most people like me are tired of going to white people neighborhoods to dine. The flavors of the food reminds of Lusaka, Zambia. Me and my wife were celebrating on 16 yrs and this was good way of doing it. We will be definitely back. ! ?? ?

I'm giving some grace because I know this is a new establishment. I took my daughter here for dinner. We were seated at 4:10pm, order taken at 4:27, food arrived at 5:29, we were the second party to enter the restaurant, but multiple tables if not all were eating before us. I overheard my waitress talking to the table next to us offering several different sides and additions that she never told us about. Chicken was very greasy so were plantains, Mac, rice/ beans and greens flavorless, oxtails were good but I had all bones and maybe 4 small pieces of meat, there was also no banana pudding upon just opening. The only thing we ate was the ox tails. My daughter's favorite food is chicken, she refused to eat it after half a piece. It did seem as if when the restaurant started to get crowded, service was much better and faster. So I advise not going when it first opens. I'd go again if I was invited and wasn't paying to try different options.

I believe I had reheated leftovers. The corn soufflé was REALLY dry. The flavor would was good but it was hard to swallow. The beans and rice were Really dry as well. And the rice wasn't cooked through. The snapper was ok. It was fried in a batter. I think batter ruins snapper. But thats just my personal opinion. The taste was fair. I actually poured some of the sweet and spicy sauce from my chicken dish on it. It was better that way. The chicken wings were ok. The mac and cheese was fair.
