Stopped by Lao Peng You for lunch and really enjoyed it. I got the pork soup dumplings and hand-pulled noodles, and my friend had the beef noodle soup—everything was fresh and flavorful. The space is tiny and the counter seating is tight, plus it got a little loud with the lunch rush. Service was friendly but not super fast. Spent about $30 for two meals and a drink—worth it, just a bit cramped.
Would have been 5 atars all around except they stopped seating at 9:30, saying there were people on the wait-list waiting...but there was no one waiting and several open tables. I think they just didn't want anyone starting that late, which would be totally acceptable for them to say. Happily waited for the to go order we then placed. The place is excellent always. Get the cold noodles!

I ordered the eggplant salad and beef noodle soup. If you have the cilantro soap gene, stay away as there is a lot of cilantro topping. I love it so I didn’t mind. Eggplant salad was delightful. The sauce with the eggplant had a bit of tartness in it and...
