The food was ok, the venue was outdated and drinks 🍸 water down.
Excellent!! Great service ! Great food and margaritas
Hit up Las Mañanitas in Lakeview last Friday, solid spot with chill patio vibes. We kicked things off with queso fundido and chorizo, then snagged the steak tacos and enchiladas (and a couple of their killer margaritas, which are 🔥). Total came to about $50 before tip. Food was tasty and margaritas definitely hit, though space felt a little snug and service was a tad slow. Still would come back!
Terrible!
Been going here for 20 years. Great margs and the friendly staff in Chicago!!!
I called and ordered the Enchilada Suizas to go. I was surprised upon arrival when the total was $25 when this used to be $16ish. I just shrugged it off, paid and left a $5 tip - no biggie. I walked the 5 mins around the block back home, opened the box, and was shocked to see the slop I was given. Everything was mixed together and looked horrible! I carefully carried the bag so there’s absolutely NO way things got this mixed up on the short walk around the corner. I usually don’t make a fuss, however, I decided to call them to leave feedback. The guy was nice but says that I must have caused this but that’s literally impossible. It’s pretty obvious that they just threw the food in the box and/or it was mishandled BEFORE it was given to me. Oh, and he mentioned they raised the prices but $30 for chicken enchiladas is crazy. Needless to say I will not eat here or suggest this place to friends again. Adding a picture of what it looked like before I started to eat it (I added the extra sour cream on top but you get the idea).
The food was very good. I was very surprised to see that they charge for the salsa that they bring out to the table in a tiny bowl. We had five people in our party and they charged us for extra salsa. I’ve been to hundreds of Mexican food restaurants, and have never seen that before.
It's a place that you can enjoy your food and look out to the window

Food was delicious....Margaritas are made very good and strong for all you drinkers out there. Service is outstanding....I enjoyed a tampiqueña dinner plate with Chipotle sauce. I asked for spicy...if you don't like spicy, ask for it mild. It was delicious ...

Funny that a place called Las Mañanitas doesn't open until after noon, eh? Anyways, the menu seems to be varied Mexican dishes. The chicken milanesa and cheese enchilada combo was delicious and the serving size was big. The piña colada was a bit pricey but well proportioned. Service can be a bit too slow and the restaurant is kept poorly-lit.

The mole sauce with the pollo en mole was outstanding: rich, medium spicy with a hint of chocolate.

This a great local Mexican restaurant. The menu offers all the Mexican favorites plus specials. I like the chicken mole. Guacamole is excellent. Margaritas pack a perfect punch.
