The restaurant closed permanently on the night of our long awaited reservation. We are sorry that happened but there is no excuse for not informing anyone with reservations that evening of the closing. Open Table was not notified to my knowledge and we were left scrambling to find a place to eat for our anniversary dinner. Thanks to the Capital Grille for taking care of us that evening. We will miss Les Nomades. It was a special place for a very long time.

Stepping across the threshold of Les Nomades is akin to entering into a perfect world where you are nurtured, fed and very much impressed. The excellence of the service and food puts miles between them and other fine dining experiences. The melding of flavors is like being swaddled in cashmere, the elegance of the room is like visiting Royalty and watching Mary Bet and her staff exceed expectations is always great fun.

This is a most elegant dining experience. We always feel warmly welcomed. Wonderful and varied choices for the courses, all were delicious. We love going to this place.

Les Nomades is an expensive but quite good pris fixe lovely restaurant on East Ontario St., in Chicago, near Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The menu is extensive. Service is impecable. I particularly liked the lamb chops and dessert cheeses.that I ordered, Restaurant has valet parking but does not advertise it (limited street parking, but there are nearby public parking garages). A disadvantage is that restrooms are on the second floor, up one flight of steep and narrow stairs (there is no elevator or escalator).. On the night we went, there were very few customers, and so I cannot really judge whst the noise level would be if the restaurant is crowded.

The best dinner I've ever had in terms of experiencing perfectly prepared food and excellent service.

Was just an odd beginning. We were ushered in, sat and asked what we wanted to drink immediately without being given menus. We had to ask for them, actually twice. Asked for the wine list, then had to ask for food menus. The place itself is definitely a testament to the 70s when it was built. I don't think anything has changed, it smelled a little old. Now once we ordered, everything was great. Service and food was really good. I don't think we would go back, it was definitely overpriced for what you got. They were out of a few things and the least expensive glass of wine was still $25.

Do you want classic French cuisine in Chicago? This place has been around forever and yet people forgets it exists. It harkens us back to the days of Charlie Trotter’s and Everest. Les Nomades is one of those great places that somehow flies under the radar even though we think it’s one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Even with its original chef having retired, the place has not missed a beat. From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we walked out, we felt like the most special people. Everyone should have the opportunity to try this special restaurant.

This is difficult to write because I once thought this restaurant was among the very best in my experience. There's now something of a shortage of available bar items. Wines listed on the menu are not to be had. Ordering a Lillet led no where. So much for that. The server took a great long time to get around to my table yet there was only one other table that had already ordered when I arrived. I sat waiting 15 minutes before a menu and drink order could be had. OK beyond all of that the food was superb. By the time I left the dining room was nearly full. I hope they are not having financial difficulties that prevent a well stocked cellar. If so, I would encourage them to keep their menu updated.

As always, dining at Les Nomades is very special. We enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience, from the welcoming flute of Champagne through finishing the Grand Marnier soufflé. The complex flavor of the caviar surprise complemented by the great wine pairing was particularly a delight.

Our dinner was delicious and plated with tender care. The thinly sliced peach in my salad reached perfection. However, the waitstaff fell short of memorable and luxurious experience Awkward motions and apologies accompanied a hurried pace. I would have enjoyed brief descriptions of the dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods.

Fine Dining FAIL. The customers, interior, and owner are all 70+. Food was almost there. Too many Michelin starred restaurants in the city to pay this kind of money for a fail. Don't make the same mistake I did.

In thirty years I've never had a bad meal at Les Nomades. It remains one of my favorite French restaurants anywhere.

The service was flawless. The meal was great!! I recommend this restaurant as a way to treat yourself or others you care abour. It is great to dine at a restaurant and not see others in jeans, tee shirts or other casual wear. Bravo to Les Nomades

We had a very enjoyable evening. The food was terrific, each dish more than lived up to our expectations. The wait staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and expert. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our meal and our evening at Les Nomades

At this spot, time stands still and so does your posture because you’re trying to behave like someone who knows what a fish fork is. This old-school French haven is prix fixe fancy with a capital F. Think whisper while you chew fancy. I got the soft-shell crab and scallop and lobster salad, which felt like it studied abroad in Provence, and the loup de mer (aka sea bass), which was basically a perfectly cooked poem.

What a culinary curtsy. Très special, très old, très worth it.
