What pleasant surprise Let's Eat to Live Was! A Black-owned restaurant that focuses on healthful options which are also quite tasty is a much-needed concept.

I stopped by for dine-in. You sit where you want and the young man working the restaurant was polite and attentive.

I had the tomato soup, the fried whiting, brussel sprouts, green beans, and coconut rice. There wasn't a bad option among them though my personal faves were the fish and the soup. Everything was so flavorful without being excessively greasy--I felt energized instead of lethargic afterwards!

Next time I'm in Chicago, I will definitely make it a point to come back.

EXCELLENT food and service. The interior is beautiful as well. The owner will really take care of you too. Highly recommended!

Beware if you want Red Snapper because you only gonna get a smidget of the fish for $30. Apparently it comes filet from a box so it’s more than likely farmed raised frozen not fresh pre filet’s. I feel cheated. But the Mac was good!

I had great expectations for this place. It has a small intimate cafe vibe with beautiful art work. First, we weren't greeted when we came in had to find someone to tell if we should just seat ourselves or wait to be seated. After being seated no one came back to check on us we had to flag down the server. We ordered an appetizer of spinach dip and it took at least 20 minutes or more to receive it. The bread that came with it was delicious. But the wait was too long. The restaurant was out of many items all of which my group intended to order. I had a blackened salmon that was season well and the skin was perfectly crispy but the filet itself was overcooked for my taste and dry. I ordered the sweet coconut cilantro rice it was underwhelming. You could taste the sweet coconut but the rice was dry and otherwise unimpressive. With the slow service and the underwhelming food. Not sure i would try it again. But perhaps it was a off evening for them so I don't discourage giving it a try.

Carmella and crew have put together a space that provides comfort in its food and aura. Nowhere in the city provides a level of kindness and deliciousness like they do. You are doing yourself a major disservice by not dropping by!

I had two orders Alfredo linguine with vegetables it was too salty for my taste.I have high blood pressure and had to result adding more Alfredo sauce to cut the salt. Also tomato soup with croutons. The soup was delicious. The next meal were Buttermilk chicken mac and cheese and brussel sprouts didn't receive the brussel sprouts in place they put greens which I did not order. The mac and cheese was good but dry /chicken was dry and over cooked.Frankly for the price i’d try again just different items.Oh none of the fruit were in stock.

Came for a delicious brunch. However, on Sunday's brunch is a pre-set menu with a serve yourself feature. I wish I would have know this before coming. The website nor Google Maps had this listed on their schedule. Although the food was alright. The star item was the green beans. It wasn't what I wanted to try. It was dinner food, not brunch food. I was told this was all they were serving at that time. You had to pay in cash, and the credit card machine was not working. Disappointing, I should have left and returned at another time.

I called to make reservations. I spoke to the lady for just under 30 seconds. I just wanted to know if they were able to seat 10 people at 4 pm. She said please hold for a minute. She had like 5 different conversations. She had me on hold for over 20 minutes. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I was on the phone left for dead before I was able to eat to live. Call me by my Chinese name, ONE GONE!!!!! I tried
