Shoutout to the Rittenhouse location. We are at Chop with our 4 year old son who just had surgery. I figured after the day we had let’s have some cookies. I placed an order from Levain on door dash. My wife after the long day she had put in the wrong address on the door dash order and the driver called screaming at me and wouldn’t come 1.3 miles to bring them even after explaining the circumstances. Door dash refunded my whole order without me even asking and I called Levain and they went above and beyond. They gave us cookies on the house and even threw in an extra chocolate chip and delivered them to CHOP. Not only are the cookies fabulous the hospitality is second to none. I am a lifelong customer to this location and want to thank everyone at the Rittenhouse location especially Mat who went above and beyond. Thanks again!
Amazing cookies! Tried last spring when we were in NYC. My family talks about them all the time so I just surprised them and had some shipped to us. 20 seconds in the microwave and it’s like they’re fresh from the oven.
Hands down, best cookies I’ve ever had!
Went here after dinner to satisfy a friend’s craving. Store was very inviting and well-lit. Cookies taken to the next level! Staff were all nice. Will highly recommend dropping by and fasting a cookie or two!

We had the double chocolate, chocolate walnut, and fall flavor. The first two were rich and decadent, gooey center and crunchy outside. The fall flavor wasn’t a personal fave. It was a casual spot, only one area for three people max to sit for a minute to enjoy. Better for grab and go scenarios!

I had been looking for a solid cookie spot in town and I finally found a consistent one. It’s a small little cookie shop on the side of the street that offers a variety of cookie flavors and baked goods. I’ve been here a few times and I have came in for a few flavors - the two chip chocolate chip, dark chocolate chocolate chip and the fall chocolate chunk. If you are lucky, you’ll catch the cookies fresh out of the oven when they are hot and gooey. If not, they are still fresh and delicious, and can be heated up at home as well. The Two Chocolate Chip is a classic cookie but with extra chips. They do not skip on the chips - truly divine. The dark chocolate chip is a chocolate lover dream - so rich. The cookies themselves are pretty large and dense - they have a crunchy exterior and a soft interior. The fall cookie I wasn’t a huge fan of - in concept, I love the spices included. In practice, there is a little too much molasses and taste more like a molasses cookie than anything. On the plus side, the cookies are made with wholesome ingredients (Soy and Sesame free!) Overall, has great cookies and excited to come back around to try other offerings they have.

so, I've never heard of this place before. My wife just received a gift package from her employer containing 4 cookies that were shipped here to Arizona. I wanted to say that first off, these cookies are huge! Secondly, the oatmeal raisin must be the best cookie I've ever eaten so far. Can't wait to try the rest!
UHHHHH GREAT STUFFFFFFFF

If I ever lived somewhere in europe, one thing I would be very happy with is that, wherever I live, I would be able to buy fresh baked quality bread within several blocks from where I live, and that I don't have to live with mediocre tasting bread from the grocery stores (including Wholefoods). Now we have Levain Bakery in River North, I don't have to envy those people who live in Milan or Paris for instance, at least for the daily bread ;) I am not a big fan of chocolate chip cookies, so I wouldn't comment on them. It seems a lot of customers love their cookies and other pastries too.

I stumbled upon this bakery while exploring River North with my daughter. We both shared a 'cookie experience'! We both are avid bakers and constantly seeking new ways of perfecting our own cookies at home. We were both astounded how the Levain cookie recipe allows for a such a HUGE cookie to have the perfect crisp on the outside, while keeping in the cookie core soft and consistent throughout... mind blown!
I ordered the chocolate chip walnut & the fall chocolate chunk. The aromatic "pumpkin spice" from the fall flavour kicked our senses in olfaction overload. That particular taste & smell combination was definitely memorable.
To pay $5-6 for a cookie may seem absurd, but it is a justifiable indulgence for me. The quality of the product justifies the price.
I will return to try other items on their menu, but not ALL of them at one time!

The workers were quick and nice, but the dark chocolate chip cookie that I tried was sickly sweet. You could cut the sugar by 50% and have a pleasant cookie
