Hottest day of the year in Chicago and the AC was nonexistent! It was miserably hot, unbelievably loud and the service was painfully slow. We had to yell across the table to be heard making dinner conversation a chore. I had been here once before, and I had a good impression. It was not in the summer and not when it was super busy. Will not go again.
Second visit. Excellent thanks to Adam our server who helped the wife through wine selection. Food was as good as first time. Charcuterie samplings we're a bit sparse in quantity but we're good in taste. Birthday (wife) crème brûlée topped off the evening aided by Frangellico on the rocks. This venue will become one of my regulars
I love this place and have been coming here for brunch for years. Everything is outstanding : the food, the service, the atmosphere. I've been bringing my dog here since he was a puppy (he's 13) and they always bring him a fresh bowl of water without being asked. I've tried lots of different menu items and every one of them are delish. I highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and I've always found parking within one block, too.

The charcuterie was good but not very big...a bit pricey for the amount of food. Steak frites was the best meal of the table. Would go back if in the neighborhood but wouldn't go out of our way to return.
Everyone in our party of three enjoyed their entrees. Attentive service. They accommodated us even though two of us were about ten minutes late (we called to let them know.) Location is the best relative to our plans for the rest of the evening--only a half-block from the Old Town School of Folk Music! Only downside was that Fork is quite loud.
This was a great experience from start to finish. Adam, our server, was extremely competent, friendly, and attentive. All of the other personnel were similarly excellent. Everyone worked so well together, making it a pleasure to dine here.
Only one server for whole restaurant, inside and out. Party in back room had another server. So slow and had to ask for condiments for hamburger, salt, water refills and each time it took a while for each request to be fulfilled. Food was ok for a Thursday night meal but I took guest that had traveled and were very hungry and the wait for service and food was too long
I had the best fish dish that I've ever eaten in my life--fried Black Sea Bass. It was also a great presentation. There was just the right amount of sprouts and veggies to go with it. It wasn't at all greasy. It tasted fresh with sweet, sour, salty, umami in a great balance. This should stay on the menu. We're planning to come back again in a few weeks when we have guests out of town. Not to be missed!

Went for a birthday. Positives: the food was overall well done/tasty and there is a large variety of appetizers for anyone (vegetarian, kids, etc.) on the menu. There were a lot of interesting drinks and a good selection of wine and beer. The variety of charcuterie/cheese board options was outstanding. We chose the chef special and it did not let us down. The cauliflower appetizers were a hit, the grilled octopus was well done (& that's coming from someone who doesn't eat octopus at all). My wife liked the salmon parmesan risotto and my dad liked his sea bass. The quinoa bowl entree was rather lacking in terms of variety of vegetables but the arugula was fresh. Negatives: Attention to detail was not there from staff. We came for a birthday & the staff failed to ask about the occasion/reason we were there although it was specified on the reservation. staff could have done a better job at seating us - we got a corner spot that was hard to get in and out of on one side and seating was rather uncomfortable. There were other unoccupied parts of the restaurant that looked more suitable. A couple of us were cold as there was a vent blowing directly above us. We ordered a side of steak with a salad and it was not good. Steak tasted bland and was barely warm when served but they did take it off the bill. I always appreciate seeing the manager and I do not think I ever saw one. Waitress was attentive but felt like she was always in a rush to get to a different table/kitchen.
The hamburger special we had last night was fabulous. My friend had lamb ribs, which I had never seen before. It was thin cut and stew like on the bone, but very tender and tasty. The hamburger was a mix of short rib and two other cuts and came with a tangy BBQ sauce, fried pickles, and a tasteful cheddar. The hand-cut fries were delicious. The waiter worked very hard, but he was stretched thin considering the place was full at 7 on a Thursday, but didn't refill afterwards. Drinks were slow to appear; it seemed like there was no bartender, so that may have been the problem. We didn't have it, but the extensive cheese boards looked wonderful. The menu had LOTS of different options and combinations. I will definitely return.
There was a great variety of options on the menu and I especially liked the specials. The food was very tasty and the portions were not overwhelming. The Kansas ribeye was so good and I really enjoyed the creme brulee. Our server was helpful and friendly and provided just the right level of service. Finally, the cost was very reasonable compared to the city. Two courses for 5 people with a couple of alcoholic beverages came to $236. Bargain! I would definitely go back if I was in the neighborhood.
We had the chicken and waffles with candied bacon. The white-meat chicken was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The waffle was light, soft and accompanied with delicious butter and maple syrup. The fun star of this dish was one piece of thick, candied bacon. Unfortunately, the so-called “pulled pork Rueben sandwich” completely missed the mark. The pork was not pulled and the sandwich was not a Rueben. It was not bad but was not what we expected from the menu. Order a pitcher of yummy sangria with the chicken and waffles (and bacon). The service is outstanding and it is a very beautiful space. We will definitely be back!
