Unfortunately this place is closed. Southern Bites pales in comparison. I had the chicken and waffles. So disappointed. It was way better upstairs. Girl at register was sleeping she was so bored.

The seafood gumbo was extremely salty, and watery. It took almost 30 mins to get the food after the order was placed.

The visit to the cafe was not enjoyable with multiple concerns to contend with. A few are listed but too many to go indepth.
1. The reservation was for a group bunch of 15 for my 50th Birthday celebration, the hostess was not pleasant and made us feel like we shouldn't have been there. I'm guessing he was right.
2. It was hard to distinguish between our server, hostess and other restaurant staff. Different folks were engaging our party asking dining related questions, etc. Plenty of Disfunction/unorganization to go around.
3. They do not have a liquor license and it was suggested that if we wanted drinks we could walk up/down to self purchase from the venue bars. What's a brunch without mimosa's. This could have been pointed out at time of reservation and I would have made a different restaurant selection. Later... our server mentioned he would seek permission to obtain a few bottles of champagne on our behalf from the bar. That's a no brainer.
4. Overall not the right place and a lesson was learned!! I would not encourge a group or any other dinning at this establishment.
5. The food was meh. Fried green tomatoes too much breading, salmon croquettes were slathered with corn hash filling, grits were bland, I didn't taste any cheese. Portion sizes were mediocre.

I wouldn’t recommend this spot for a group event. The price is not worth the group rate for the buffet. It’s better to have every one order their own dishes. My family visited and items were not replenished but we paid 80-85 per person, when we could have paid half just by ordering a dish off the menu. I’d give them a 3.5/5 for service , they weren’t the most friendly. Although we did have a nice server. Food was decent. I love their biscuits and jam. It was the only thing I took to go. If you factor service, cost, and food quality together - I’d have to say that it’s not a place I’d visit again anytime soon. One and done.

Hidden away on the 2nd floor of timeout market. The food is good but it’s missing that unique item or special something that sets it apart from other brunch spots. Portion size could be bigger in all honesty.

I dined at Lizzy Cafe in @timeoutmarketchicago for the first time.
After seeing how delicious the food looked on IG. Once we put the order in it took 45 mins to get the food and once the food arrived (mind you, I only ordered the cheese scrambled eggs, potatoes and turkey bacon.) The food was wrong they gave me eggs over easy instead of scrambled. I'm unable to have uncooked eggs because of my heart implant.
Otherwise 1 would've just ate the wrong eggs) . They
"corrected" the food that took another 15 min. Only to come back wrong
AGAIN (they brought back the same wrong order AGAIN.)
They took the order back for the and time and never brought it back.
I talk to the owner about the order. Only to be told that she told the waiter to throw my order away. I was met with no apology, no remorse, ALL THE ATTITUDE. When she asked me with all the attitude WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT THIS?!!! I was over it at this point. She didn't even offer to remake the order that was wrong twice and thrown away. She acted like I was interrupting her. Our waiter was so nice and apologized for the owner because he even saw that this was disrespectful and how the way she was talking to me was wrong. The waiter said he would take my order that was trashed off of the receipt.
Which took another 15 mins.
Only to have the owner mess up on the receipt by charging me for a completely different meal. The waiter even made the comment that she (the owner) was being rude to him
. The waiter took the receipt back to the owner again and it still wasn't correct. The waiter was so apologetic again. But it's not his fault that his boss is ridiculous. Overall it took 3 times to fix this receipt. From start to finish this experience was absolutely crazy. Wrong food twice, no ACCOUNTABILITY, receipt was wrong 3 times. This was a 2 hour experience that should've only been i hour. I'm not EVER going back to this restaurant again. I have never spoke negatively about a restaurant before. BUT, It cuts deeper when it's your own people doing the disrespect.
I felt like I was getting "PUNKED". (Surely Ashton Kutcher was going to jump out at some point.)

Cool space and atmosphere! Made reservations and were super stoked to try this place out; unfortunately, even on a non-busy morning, it took us 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the wait staff, despite being passed by multiple times. Even parties who came after us were greeted promptly and had water served. Coffee machine was broken, which is ok.
We finally flagged down the server, and had found that our order has not begun, and at this rate, would be late to our next gathering. We asked for our order to be cancelled and left after 45 minutes with only water.
Pretty disappointed with our experience since we were excited about the menu. I hope this was just an off-day.

The service here is amazing! We had an issue and it was immediately corrected. They went above and beyond and good service is hard to come by!

Pretty disappointed. Arrived at 11a, no coffee or mimosas. Crab cakes and croquettes were way too salty, parfait was too sweet. Service was absent mostly.

I visited this place on 4/21/24. We were a party of three who made reservations a week earlier for 1:30pm. I stood in line where there were no host for more than 45 minutes. Finally sat down, took and additional 20 mins to take our order, 20 mins to get the food. I ordered the fish and grits, the fish was good just too salty for me, wasnt impressed with the grits. Salmon Croquettes were overly salty that i couldnt eat them. I did not taste any of the lemon in the Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes, but the pancakes were really good. I would advise for this place to hire some wait staff. The owner played the waitress/hostess and was all over the place. She also had asuch a beautifu soul, i would never return. It took over 20 mins to get the check.

Food was decent, great music & ambiance.
Service was sadly horrible, went on a Sunday I am assuming they were short staffed. But, got seated rather quickly but after that it all went downhill sadly. Took forever to get waters and then our server disappeared for like 20 minutes.
Came back and said sorry which was appreciated. But the apology was awkward was completely silent after only just saying “sorry”…. we had to then proceed with the conversation and ask for drinks and order our food. The drinks were taken off due to a lemonade being out of stock and having to be replaced.
Waited about another 30 minutes for food which came out not that hot. The chicken and waffle portion compared to the table across from us was a big difference. My friend got two little pieces of chicken compared to the three stacked decent size pieces on top of someone else’s plate.
Then we watched another party of two who I assume knew the chef get seated immediately at the bar and served right away. With drinks, food and they were in and out and received great service. Yet we had been waiting patiently for the time we had spent just sitting and looking.
Lastly we waited a long to also just receive the check. Overall we just expected a better experience due to the many great reviews we heard.
