Though it's not a sports bar, bartender Justin went out of his way to put on game 1 of the WS. The ambiance is comforting (think dim lighting, chill music, and dark wood) and the food is fantastic. Lisa our server did an excellent job managing our table of five. The location is slightly off beaten path, but worth finding.

I visited about a month ago and I'm surprised I didn't think to write a review right after I left. I ordered the Famous Steak Frites and it was one of the best steaks I had. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Customer service was excellent too. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to meet, eat and relax, this is the place. And their non alcoholic beverages are good too!

Always a great experience! The food is good, portions are large. It can get a bit busy during the lunch hour. Perfect location to various businesses in the area.

Such a gem! We were a silly table and all ordered the same thing - but different sauces and sides. Each was cooked perfectly. We were all so happy. Nice wines by the glass. Nice NA choices. Easy but professional service. I know from experience they have good menu items - but sometimes when you want a steak frites...it's a great place to go!

Carpenter Street is a great spot located in West Loop if you’re looking for a quick meal and some nice drinks, they have a full-service bar and a lot of options on the menu even if you’re vegetarian, I highly recommend the Wagyu burger. It was nice a simple classic if you’re interested in some of the seafood, the Bronzino was a hit you’re gonna be left drooling… well there’s a lot more to say, but I can keep going forever. Also, I would highly recommend the salad, but be careful it doesn’t include salami so maybe I can take it off if you’re a vegan or vegetarian.

Warm and inviting with a relaxed, quiet neighborhood vibe. Server, Elizabeth gave good meal recommendations as it was our first time dining here. The food arrived piping hot with generous portions. The menu is relatively small, but there should be something for everyone's taste.

We celebrated our engagement dinner here with family and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. The food and drinks were fantastic—I especially enjoyed the espresso martini, and the Carpenter Street Salad was delicious. We also made a mistake with the tip, and the staff kindly and promptly resolved it. Overall, a great experience and one I would highly recommend!

I’ll when food is done right you know. We had the Famous Steak Frites and the Pan Roasted Chicken. The steak was cooked to perfection, and seasoned to perfection! The roasted chicken sauce, was over the top! The food prep was fast! Great place will eat here again.

Do not go here:

Bartender took a hair or fuzzy off of an ice cube and put it in someone’s drink and sent it out.

Originally going to give 3/5 but I saw what I said above.

Service not good. Spoke with manger after I paid. He said he noticed poor service, but not once did he step in.

I have reached out to their email, to have the owner contact me. Honestly health department should be called.

The restaurant has a pleasant neighborhood vibe. The space Is awkwardly lit where the wrong areas are bright and all the detailing is in shade.

The cocktails (negroni and old fashioned) were fine, 6/10.

We devoured the burrata, 8/10.

Ordered the burger medium rare, but was told it's a double patty smash burger, so no choice. A burger showed up without cheese, and when I brought it up, the runner and the server argued about it while standing next to the table. It went back to the kitchen for the paper thin square to be people on. The backyard 1/2 pound patty was certainly not smashed, very well cooked and dry, 4/10. The frozen fries were fine, 5/10.

The steak was also over cooked and under seasoned.

Service was generally quick and friendly, with the exception of the table side arguing.

All this, not great for the price.
