They seemingly overbooked for the Valentine’s Italian tasting menu. We were crammed into a small room where each table was surrounded by 5 tables all within a few feet of each other. We waited over an hour for our first course. The wait staff repeatedly forgot and asked us what course we were on and if we had a wine pairing. The pacing between dishes was very unpleasant, with the 6-courses lasting nearly 4 hours. Whenever a dish was brought out, every other table in the room seemingly glared jealously at the lucky recipients. The food was just fine for the high price. The wine pairing was underwhelming. This felt like a cash grab.

Really great burger! The pork belly appetizer was delicious and very flavorful as well. Kitchen is open until 11pm so this is a good choice for a post-drinks bite.

I have been back to L&E three times this year and every time has been great. However this last time, I brought my sister and mother from out of town and we just had an exceptional time. My mother who can be a little hard to please couldn't even fault it, not only the food was great, but our server (can't remember his name unfortunately) was fantastic. My sister kept saying this was a meal to remember. We were celebrating our birthdays and instead of doing a sweet (we were too full) they gave us shots, too fun. If you haven't been back to L&E for a minute, do it!! It's so refreshing to have both memorable food and service.

Longman & Eagle in Chicago is outstanding! The chicken and waffle is an absolute standout—crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken paired with a fluffy, golden waffle that’s pure comfort food at its best. Great place and amazing service! Stopped by since it was highly reviewed. Ben the bartender was very friendly. He gave me great recommendations for here and the city. I had the breakfast sandwich on his recommendation and the breakfast potatoes (which were hearty). Absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend!
Whiskey shots are also $3, you can't beat that. Definitely a place to try.

Longman is a vibrant scene of culinary adventure, local young talent, and vibey night life. The extensive alcohol menu (primarily specializing in whiskey) is extraordinary and must be sampled from immediately. The food has been highly recognized in the past, and continues to exceed expectations with how delicious it is. My lady and I stayed in the inn for several nights and found that while the room was charming and comfortable, the bathroom area requires more privacy and renovation. The Logan's Square area is fun and full of niche shops, sweet treats, and unforgettable dining experiences. While you're parading around Chicago's north side, stop in at Longman, try a whiskey you've always wanted to try, and enjoy the delicious menu.
