I had high hopes for this place. But unfortunately, I had an unpleasant and unsatisfactory experience. I came there specifically for the salmon bread and pastries. I arrived at 12:20 pm and they were out of the salmon bread. I asked a worker if they make more and he said they stop making them at around noon. Which is ridiculous because the café doesn’t close until 3 PM. And as an established business, you should make more for a Saturday when you know your business is going to be very busy.I tried the cinnamon roll, and it was very dry and disappointing. The coffee was good but the overall experience was chaotic and nerve wrecking for Saturday afternoon. I hope they get a better ordering system and stop relying on one cash register. And have a better way of organizing the flow of traffic so that people are not confused when coming to their business for the first time.

I’ve given Lost Larson a fair amount of attempts and my opinion is truly concluded after the 3rd visit and still being disappointed here. It’s a cute bakery and their pastries all look amazing… however, the excitement ends there. Every time I find myself disappointed in the taste of the pastries. They all seem to look much better than they taste. On top of that, it’s genuinely a pretty overpriced bakery and they charge a 15% service fee automatically (and of course the machine still asks if you’d like to tip on top of that). Some thoughts on the food from my most recent visit:- Lingonberry almond cake sounded so amazing but it could use more lingonberry and almond flavor.- The hazelnut chocolate croissant was pretty underwhelming. Only the very outside layers were flakey and the inside was a little bready.- The cinnamon roll was the only item I truly enjoyed- The cold brew tasted sour

We got a country loaf, cardamom bun and cinnamon roll. All were pretty “meh” or just not good. The country loaf was more like a rye/sourdough hybrid. It was okay but I’ve had better bread from Mariano’s. The cardamom bun was boring. Had no taste. The cinnamon roll was a huge disappointment. The roll was okay but the tiny amount of frosting wasn’t sweet at all. Never thought I could dislike a cinnamon roll but Lost Larson got me there. Honestly got pHlour instead. They’re 100X better

Staff support fee of %15 on top of already high priced items and without proper disclosure?? Is this a joke? This is right out scam and theft. Be aware!!!

Went into the store around 1pm and it wasn’t super packed. I let the person working the counter know that I have a nut allergy and she pointed out a few items that she thought had nuts but she didn’t seem too sure. We asked her if a particular pastry had nuts (was missing a name card) and she and the other person working behind the counter said no. We got home and the pastry had an almond filling on the inside. Luckily I didn’t eat any, but would have appreciated to know definitely what pastries had nuts and what didn’t.

I had the creme brulee brioche and it was really good. I want to come back for the quiche and the croissants and maybe buy the black truffle butter too. The staff are warm.I called because I accidentally left my cardamom bun to go on the table and they just made me come back and gave me a fresh one.I appreciate the service and the ambiance.

I lost my streak of visiting "Lost Larson" Bakery due to various reasons: COVID-19, gotten busy with children, lack of free time and etc. My first time in the Andersonville location was a positive one. I was impressed with the princess cake. The cafe, from what I remembered, was quite busy during a January morning. Seating wasn't ample but it was comfortable enough to dine in. They had quite strict COVID patron policy in regard of ordering and pickup. I did manage to stop by once yet I wasn't able to snatch anything to eat...In the year of 2024, I still missed my princess cake. Of course there was a similar item at an I*ea food court, the one at "Lost Larson" tasted better and it was just nostalgic to me. I actually was looking for another bakery to see if it was available on Doordash and ran across LL. I immediately convinced my family to place an order so that they could give it a try. It turned out they didn't have my princess cake (tears...). It was alright after I browsed through the rest of menu and chose the cheddar & kale scone. My mom also selected a savory option: spinach & feta croissaint. It was risky to order coffee via a delivery platform, but I craved for a cup of cold brew and I was able to add on the oat milk. Even though delivery took a bit to arrive, the tastes of bakery items weren't affected as much as I anticipated. The scone was filling and the aroma was intoxicating. I warmed it in the microwave for less a minute then the crust was back to its glory. I told myself I should have ordered an additional spinach & feta croissant because the sesame seeded crust was addicting. I even scraped the fallen crust and picked up the dispersed sesame seeds inside the container."Lost Larson" might make you shrink the wallet. However, the money you spent on the food wasn't going to be a complete loss. At least my experience with LL delivery via Doordash was a good one. I would still prefer to visit their Andersonville shop if I get an opportunity to do so.
