This was such a great place for us! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome and pleasant. Our lunch arrived promptly, was served hot, and was great. The entire area has a cozy, joyful vibe. We had a great time and are forward to go again soon!

Classic diner vibe with great portions and tasty food. My omelette and hash browns were great, and the chocolate chip pancakes were perfectly fluffy. Great breakfast spot with that old fashioned diner feel

The day we went was a bit buzy but we got seat almost right away. The food was good but if u are buying the pancakes just note that they are huge. Love that they give a donut hole and an orange wedge to start and end your mean with some ice cream. I love Business that goes a little more for there customers. And the service was good as well. I will return next time I'm in chicago

Fun, energetic, and timeless! The food was delicious! I wanted old school comfort food. I chose the tuna salad sandwich and it was amazing!!! Fresh and full of flavor on Lou's bread. Yum!!!!

Lou Mitchell’s was our first stop on Route 66 after an early morning flight into Chicago. The breakfast definitely hit the spot! We ordered a Greek Omelette and Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Both were served with a fresh baked slice of toast and homemade orange marmalade. Portions were large and service was brisk.

This is the real thing. big diner style, busy, but friendly staff. meals are massive! I had a cheese omelette with apple sauce (yes, applea sauce) and it was great. The pancakes were big and fluffy. Great spot near Union Station.

Since 1923, breakfast and lunch have been served there (next to our hotel) - typical of the USA - huge portions , friendly staff

We hit the lunch rush on a Saturday, so it was packed and very loud. Almost uncomfortably loud, but oh my god did the food make it worth it. Despite a line out the door, we were sat within approx 15mins. Food was phenomenal. Get the omelete hobo skillet style. The French toast looks to die for. Highly recommend!

Before starting our trip on Route 66, we visited this restaurant and had breakfast. a very pleasant experience, nice and fast waitress, it was just wonderful and delicious, you just have to bring patience, the place was quite crowded in the early morning.

I’d seen this place was a Chicago icon before I went and that was confirmed upon visiting. The whole ‘eggs for breakfast’ thing that Americans do always seemed strange – just have toast and cereal so you don’t have to cook/wash up that early in the morning. But the omelette I had here made it make sense – if you can have something that light, fluffy and flavoursome to start your day, why wouldn’t you? Particularly if all you have to do is eat it. I was staying in the building next door and could have happily come here for breakfast every day, but for the benefit of my waistline, I kept it to a single visit.

Amazing omelettes! Huge in portion. The potatoes that come with it equally good. They served us very unique bread that you can buy a loaf of as well. Must visit in Chicago!

The best you can expect from an American dinner. Great coffee, superlative food and fast and very courteous service. Not to be missed if you are in Chicago.
