I was really looking forward to my seafood boil from lowcountry, but unfortunately it was simply not good. The shrimp, corn, and crab were extremely overcooked. The shrimp was chewy and the tails were hard to remove given how overcooked they were. The sauce was super salty and lacked any flavor except garlic.

They serve some of the best seafood boils in Chicago, with incredible flavor and a thicker, well-seasoned sauce that makes every bite memorable. The seafood is always fresh, cooked perfectly, and satisfies any craving without fail. Their wide range of options ensures there’s something for everyone, whether you like it mild or with plenty of spice.
The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a great spot for a date night or a night out with friends. While seafood can often be pricey, Lowcountry keeps their prices fair without sacrificing quality. The service is consistently friendly and efficient, adding to the overall experience. Between the atmosphere, flavor, and value, it’s easily one of the best seafood spots in the city.

Dearly beloved, we gather here today, not in sorrow, but in reverence—for we have witnessed greatness, we have tasted divinity, and we have absolutely destroyed a mountain of crayfish with no regrets.
This was not just a meal. It was a battle. A joyous, buttery war waged with our bare hands, where the only casualties were the noble crustaceans and the napkins that tried, in vain, to contain the mess.
The moment we entered, the air was thick with the perfume of garlic, spice, and the promise of an unforgettable feast. The tables, lined with paper, awaited the carnage to come. And when the great bounty arrived—a steaming, glistening pile of crayfish, corn, and potatoes—we knew there was no turning back.
Oh, the crayfish! Their sacrifice was not in vain. They gave their tails willingly, their tiny claws raised in silent farewell as we cracked, peeled, and devoured. Each bite was a masterpiece, each morsel an ode to seasoning perfection. And let us not forget their steadfast companions: the corn, sweet and juicy, soaking up every drop of buttery goodness, and the potatoes, humble yet essential, a soft reprieve in this tempest of spice.
We leave this place not as we entered, but transformed—our fingers tingling, our faces glistening with the evidence of our triumph. We say farewell, but not goodbye, for we will return to honor the crayfish once more.
Rest in pieces, dear crustaceans. You were cherished. You were delicious. You were everything.

I ordered a payday combo and added a lobster tail and once I opened my bag I noticed my lobster tail wasn't in there,I was very upset I kept calling knowing they were closed that shit isn't cheap 😭 and I guess we need to start weighing the food ourselves I definitely didn't have a full pound of shrimp 🍤
Update* I ordered another payday combo and asked if the missing lobster tail from the previous order be added and they said yes, so as I opened the lobster tail up it was barely lobster inside it,like the really took some out of it or it was just bad but I've been ordering from them for a while and I've never received a lobster tail like this, then I taste it,it was really soft like it went bad or something, idk if they're being spiteful and mad about the first complaint I made and call themselves teaching me a lesson but I'll definitely be making my way on Wabash.

I visited the Lowcountry Lakeview location for the first time on a Friday evening. The staff was friendly, and we were seated right away, which was a nice start to the experience. My husband and I ordered the “Payday,” which included 2 snow crab clusters, 1 lb of shrimp, 2 corns, 3 potatoes, and 2 pieces of jalapeño cornbread. We chose the “everything” sauce with a hot heat level and added two hard-boiled eggs and an order of garlic noodles.
The sauce was delicious, and the snow crab clusters were a great size, cooked to perfection with a sweet, flavorful taste. The garlic noodles were also excellent, perfectly al dente and full of flavor.
Unfortunately, not everything met our expectations. The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery, the eggs were dry, and the cornbread was crusty and dry as well. For a total of $96.32 (including tax and tip), the meal didn’t feel worth the price.
While I love Lowcountry and have always enjoyed the South Loop location, this visit to the Lakeview spot fell short. I’ll be sticking with the South Loop location from now on.
