Lutz Cafe & Pastry Shop

This was our first try to have Lutz Pastry. I’m in town visiting my niece and her husband. We were all pleased & delighted on how delicious it was. There is something nostalgic about having these delicious pastries from an institution. They have been around since 1948. Everything was so delicious. Support this business so it continues to serve Chicago. Thank you Lutz for the experience!

This shop was recommended to me and I am sold on their pastries!!! The little I have sampled from was phenomenal! The cake was spongy and moist with a wonderful fresh buttercream The strudel soft but flaky. The flavors were so well balanced, not too sweet and absolutely not bland.

The staff members wes knowledgeable of everything in stock and the gentleman that helped me was a very cool guy. If I didn't cut myself off I would have bought one of everything. Whenever I'm in that part of town, it'll be a must to stop in.

I can't recommend Lutz Bakery enough. Their pastries and cakes are amazing! Some of the best I've had. The staff are very kind and helpful as well. Prices aren't bad either. Again, I highly recommend Lutz. Give them a try -- I know you'll love them as much as I do.

Well when my dad's mom was alive we used to get a birthday cake for her for her birthday or we pick up it for her something as that .

This is ridiculous, will never return I was just desperate. You have the nerve to charge $7.99 for small dried up cupcake or eclair???? nothing special. Roser's bakery is consistant and still great. I'm still in shock.....

Cakes are good one thing.

Not recommended, just bought chocolate napoleon pastry, 8.5$ per piece. It was very dry and not fresh.

The reason why I know about this please I happen to drive past it on a day where it was hot and they had some really good bread they were cooking there or baking and it smelled phenomenal so I decide to stop in and check it out The layout was pretty damn cool it actually had an old school nostalgia to it I say go check this out guys You're not going to be disappointed

The marzipan torte/slice is TO DIE FOR. We grew up getting it as a special treat. Now that we live farther away, we come to fill up when we’re in town. All the other items are great, too, but the marzipan is really special. They have 3 small tables to enjoy your cake inside if you want. Very nice staff!
