I've Finally discovered THE finest Afro Diaspora restaurant Ever! The seating, staff, phenomenally lingering flavors, the family affair backstory, the beautiful decor, handcrafted tabletops, birthday toasts...I could go on. This foodie marveled at the chef's beautiful plating, the stunningly layered tastes, where EVERYONE in my group said,"I will be coming back here again". Not only was my food deeply satisfying, my server and staff made our meal a warm and inviting experience from reservation to the check! Mahari has its can't miss regular menu and also offers its "Passport Series" menu on Saturdays featuring weekly chef's selections from across the African diaspora: from Senegal, to Belize, and from across the wide expanse of the world African presence. The concept is executed with excellence, the prices are $$$ mid-range, and the FOOD is OMG delectable! I will not forget Mahari.

Glad we decided to check this place out. We were not disappointed in any way. Already planning our next visit. We may not have known what to expect flavor wise from the dish descriptions, but we were pleasantly amazed at what we received. Creative drink options as well.

This restaurant is great. Surpassed my already high expectations. The atmosphere is intentional, well crafted, and intimate. It really gives off an upscale bohemian vibe and you can tell a lot of attention and care was put into the design of the interior.
The cocktails were delicious and unique. I had the afrodisiac and it was beautiful when it came to the table. The rum float on top in an inside out lime really drive home the concept of the drink.
For food, I had the mariscos and my dining partner had the pollo and frijoles. Both were incredible. The scallop in the mariscos was fantastic. Tender and packed with flavor. It makes you want to savor every bite. The mussels were delicious, and the broth in the dish was so tasty. The pollo was perfectly cooked with just enough char to allow you to taste the flavor of the meat without overpowering it. The rice and peas that came with it were so flavorful with a hint of coconut and sage. The staff were attentive, welcoming and polite. Loved the experience and will definitely return.
