Came here on Christmas Day. The food was excellent and the chef stopped by to talk with us which was nice. Got the chile en nogada which was delicious and other members of my party got mole dishes which I was envious of as well. Our server was fine but not particularly friendly or happy, especially for it being a holiday. She did not seem to want to talk about the menu or make any recommendations.
As always, the food is wonderful! However, I did feel that my margarita lacked much tequila. I love when Geno stops at the tables to find out how we enjoyed our evening. This adds so much to being at the restaurant when we can see the owner and chef come out to check up on his guests. We'll always like to try to bring friends who have never been there before. So far, we've had no complaints from our friends, and only positive reviews from them. Keep up the good work, Geno!
Not you taco burrito Mexican restaurant. Fine dining at its best. Staff is well dressed and cheerful. Expansive menu and many specials. Bright cheerful space. Geno, the owner has been a staple in Chicago hospitality for some time. Always feel like family.
Happy repeat diners treat yourself to a wonderful Mexican dinner at the best restaurant in town
Amazing food and space. The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 15. Everyone loved their meals! Highly recommend their mole.
Amazing restaurant! Wonderful food and service, the moles are incredible. Can't recommend this place enough.
Fantastic food, terrific service, you know it's good when you have a hard time picking what you want to order!! We can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu! We left very happy and full bellied!!
Walked in and greeted by three people and they were all kind. Walked over to our table. Ariel was our server and he knew the menu so well and explained all of the options. The food was authentic and tasted great! Will definitely return.

I went in with my family and felt pretty ignored after being seated. The restaurant was empty too. One white couple came in after us and was sat right next to us. They received service while we were completely disregarded so we left to another restaurant nearby. Lazo’s before this was way more welcoming and good food. Even worse was the two waiters (M+F) seemed hispanic too, but it felt like we didn’t get service for not being white. Don’t recommend this place. Have had plenty good service in other Chicago mexican restaurants as Mexican people. So suck it and hope your business fails.
The food is delicious! The staff is always friendly with solid service. The mescal margarita is sooo tasty. Very nice assortment on the dessert menu as well.
It’s our go-to in Logan.

Unfortunately, this is one of those places where it's over priced and food was not up to par. Under seasoned. Tiny portions. It was challenging for them to properly course the meal out—my appetizer showed up with other guest's entrees. My mother in-law was no impressed with the Mole and that's what they're known for. Service was good and friendly and the ambiance was nice. Outside of that I wouldn't recommend this place.
delicious brunch & great atmosphere!

Greetings my Foodzies, time for another review. This time we’re at Manchamanteles (the name means the table is stained from the moles that fall on them) at 2009 n Western Ave. in Chicago.
This is an authentic Hispanic restaurant. Beautifully decorated in Mexican heritage decor. The restaurant has several different areas, including an outdoor dining area, bar area, banquet area and dining area. Tha restaurant is very clean.
Our server Karla was magnificent , she was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of ghe restaurant . Our journey began with a trail mix of different spicy nuts, wasabi peas etc. a nice twist instead of chips and salsa; which don’t get me wrong we also enjoy.
For an appetizer we had the ceviche (pacific kampachi, lime, tomato, olives, cilantro, avocado, orange, radish, serrano & closed loop farm greens) we delicious everything was fresh and flavorful.
For our entrees we had Pato al Chipotle (smoked boneless duck breast, creamy chipotle salsa, yukon gold mashed potatoes with queso fresco {a slightly salty, tasty crumble cheese}) the mole was smooth, had a little heat and paired well with the perfectly prepared duck breast. The mashed potatoes were good but had a slight chewy texture.
Mole Manchamanteles (chicken breast, mole rojo, grilled piña,plantains, chorizo & mashed potatoes(Oaxaca) the chicken was juicy, I would have liked a more char but that’s just my choice; the mixture of the chorizo and mole made for a great flavor burst.
Carne Tampiquena (mesquite grilled skirt steak, guajillo cheese enchilada, black beans, queso fresco & guacamole) the steak was seasoned and seared perfectly, the enchilada was a little dry but had decent flavor.
This was a very unique dining experience which we enjoyed thoroughly.
I give this restaurant 5 stars. Give it a try and let me know how you like it. Ciao, Ciao for now. For a complete video of our experience please follow me on TikTok (Smoking Papa)

I went in with my family and felt pretty ignored from the beginning. The host left us standing in the middle of the dining room while seating us to go help other guests. We felt rushed even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We weren’t asked if we wanted dessert or if we wanted anything else. The space is really nice and the food was amazing, if it wasn’t for that the experience itself left a bad taste.
