A step back to the 60s sitting in the booths where maybe the Beatles sat in.
This is a Chicago staple & a must!! I had the grilled cheese with turkey & ice cream and everything was 10/10. Obviously the food menu was limited but hey it was something and of great quality. Looking forward to my second visit & honestly don’t know how I didn’t know about them sooner. The soup was also top notch! & this place has great nostalgic vibes! You can order to go or dine in if there are open tables. Loved the dine in experience even though we waited 40 minutes it was definitely worth it.
Visited a couple of times. Ordered Swiss Milk Chocolate Sundae and Raspberry Sundae. The portion is satisfying. I also tried the German Chocolate Cake, and it was nice, not too sweet, with a big portion to share, price was affordable. The shop has many dessert choices, including artisan chocolates, and also chocolate boxes that are sweet enough to give as gifts.
This is an iconic ice cream and candy shoppe. It still looks thr same way it did 100 years ago...It is a wonderful experience.
AMAZING ICE CREAMM AHHHH
Had a wonderful experience at Margie's, it felt like I was in a movie and captured such nostalgic vibes. Amazing milkshake and you definitely get your money's worth. Staff was helpful figuring out how to order and pay and I loved the jukebox on each booth. Would def recommend!
What kind of ice cream shop runs out of strawberries? I waited in line for about 15 minutes only to find out they weren’t available. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
This place is so so good. This is what I call dessert Island.
My favorite sundae shop in Chicago we’ve been coming here for over a decade, their turtle sundae is the absolute best!!
A true Chicago jam

Always great service and delicious ice cream! I've never had to wait long before being seated.
They not only serve food, but have a candy counter with the best chocolates in Chicago.
the ice cream and the vintage elements are of course, fantastic. the neon signs are 10/10 and the toffee sundae is life altering. I hate to complain about employees and part of me thinks a place isn’t really a true historic landmark unless at least one person that works there is incredibly rude (see also the green mill) so just know that they actually close about an hour before whatever time is listed and you’ll get along fine. :)
Been coming here for years, a family favorite. Would highly recommend
