When I lived in Chicago, I loved going here. It was like time travel back to the Sixties (I didn‘t live during that time period but I could imagine…). Their strawberry/vanilla malts were to die for. Now and then, a skinny little boy was sitting all by himself at one of the tables, in front of him a huge serving of ice cream - was it their son or their grandson? I don’t know. But it must have been heaven for him growing up in an ice cream parlor.

This place is amazing. Hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever had. All the flavors they have and the little wafers that come with your order are the perfect touch. Their ice cream tastes perfect and fresh everytime, their pistachio and coffee are my personal favorites along with vanilla , but coffee and pistachio just taste better at Margie’s. The drive to get there is very nice as well. Each outing at Margie’s is a new great memory made to be cherished for years to come.

The BEST coconut ice cream I’ve ever had with just the perfect amount of coconut flakes. I go out of my way to bring pints home — absolutely worth it the $20-some for 2 pints. Better to shop local! Never had to wait long even with a big crowd
