I ordered a pizza from Marie’s a little while ago because I kept seeing their name on multiple best pizzas in chicago lists so me and my girlfriend decided to give it a try and tbh I don’t understand the hype around this place the pizza was very mid and lacked flavor I was very disappointed I won’t be going there again I’ll stick with better pizza places like Pete’s pizza 2 and forno rossos

The most run-down, apathetic, mediocre bar/pizza lounge I've ever been in. The decor hasn't been updated since my wife and I were dating in the 1970's and didn't know any better. There's a thick coating from the millions of cigarettes from before the indoor ban. Stale beer is the dominant smell. Upholstery is cracked and sprung.I'd bet it hasn't even been cleaned since it opened.

They’re lucky they aren’t getting a one. They have no idea how to answer the phone and they cancelled my online order…after 15 minutes of waiting!!! Oh well, their loss. Pete’s on Western is better anyway.

The first time I was here must have been an off day, I'm happy to say that Marie's makes a great pie in a great atmosphere. I came in with a large group of rowdy guys and their pies came out fresh, thin, and everything you'd want in Chicago thin crust.

The liquor store is empty. No stock at all. They still have a working phone but no matter when you call, even on days they say they are open, no one answers. It has been over a year and the owner has been contacted a number of times but won't answer email, or her phone. The place is obviously out of business, as no one is ever there. If N weren't so stubborn and such a mean person there would be plenty of people who'd help her get the biz back up to snuff, but as it is now, most people just wish she would unlock the doors and go away. Let someone else run the biz, someone who would take care with it. She continues to sell discount coupons, lists the business as open, but it just isn't true. I even know someone who reached out to the owner, N, but she ignores all correspondence. Really sad because with a little guidance she could have a ridiculously busy place. I mean, Marie's is a place we went in high school almost 30 years ago. N's poor daddy must be rolling in his grave seeing what his girl did to the business.

Is this place closing??? They are NEVER open. They aren’t even open most Friday and Saturday nights! The owner seems to only want to work one day a week for 4 hours. It’s a shame because the pizza used to be so good. Give it up already lady and lock the doors for good! End people’s suffering of anticipating your pizza just to get a locked door! If you don’t want to work don’t! Don’t mislead people and put your hours four days a week when you’re barely open every other week!

a place with a character, thats for sure. staff and overall vibe - great, everyone is willing to help you! pizza is tasty too, but my personal preference would say that it should be a little thicker. but as i said, that's my opinion. if you like thin pizza's, visit Marie's for sure!Parking: There is street parking right next to the restaurant, but on a busy evening's it can be kinda hard to find a spot.

Wanting so badly to go back because I miss the old Marie's but reviews made me realize it will never be back

It pains me to write this review but this is a plea to the owner to sell this place to someone who wants to run a restaurant and get the psychiatric help you need. Marie's was my favorite spot for meals with extended family coming in from the suburbs where sometimes 20 of us would be seated in back. I would stop in at least weekly for a pizza and a few beers with a friend. Many of my friends who have moved out of state's first request when visiting. My dad's birthday week was always during customer appreciation days so we went to his favorite place every year. My sister-in-law announced her engagement to both sets of parents who just met there. So many family memories. My heart aches that one of the happiest places in the world for me is shuddered by a mentally disturbed individual. I know you have had offers, please please sell to someone who will bring the magic back.

This lady lost her mind. The other reviews are completely right. She is ruining her own business. Hand it off to someone who isn't so scared to have customers in a restaurant. She is covid out of her mind. So sad to see what has happened to this place. My family and I were long time customers, no longer. If you went to this restaurant before covid, it is no where near the same type of restaurant, just stay away! You'll get bullied and harassed by her.

Yes I've had Marie's before they need to close up shop.... Their pizza is garbage if you cut back on quality you'll pay for it in the end simple as that..... You need a new manager such as myself and I'll show you how to make a pizza place I can turn that place upside down and turn it the best pizza place on the planet..... Use quality cheese homemade sauce freshly grated mozzarella cheese all fresh ingredients use oregano for your seasoning use fennel seasoning use the right things.... Don't use cheap quality garbage....

Their hours are misleading. They’re not open to the public, only by limited call-in reservation. They couldn’t even tell me when a reservation would open, the man on the phone just said he’d “call me back when he figures it out”. I’ve shown up during their listed hours and nobody is there. Their hours say they’re open at 3pm on Sunday: I show up, nobody is there, I call and they say they won’t seat me and that the kitchen doesn’t even open until 3:30-4.It’s been almost 3 years since the pandemic started. I’m fine with showing it proof of vax if you were actually open. Stop operating this way, stop being rude to people, stop lying about being open when you’re not. I’ve tried multiple times in 2022 to eat here and they won’t let me eat inside. You should let people eat inside again.
