Great way to spend a very cold Chicago day. Amazing popovers and warm broth to start. It was quiet. The server was excellent. We all enjoyed our salads and we each got a different one. We will definitely go back.
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant right on the Magnificent Mile. The atmosphere is pure luncheon heaven. Food was delicious (Chicken Marsala, Pear Salad, Brussel Sprouts, and Grilled Cheese). Of course the traditional popovers were superb, hot and tasty. Wine list covered all the bases too. The service couldn't have been more appropriate - there when needed and relaxed. Our group had a chance to visit without being rushed. Because the tables have adequate spacing you don't have to listen to other patrons at the next table. Truly an setting for everyone to converse in a normal manner. This is a perfect place to celebrate an event or just to enjoy a great meal with friends in a relaxed atmosphere..
This is one of our family traditions. Different city, but food, service and ambience did not disappoint.
Took a long time after we ordered for the food to arrive. Once we placed our order the server evaporated. Food is served by a different person than the server. No one ever came back to us at all until I had to flag down the original server for our check. Very disappointing.
Everything was great, including the legendary popovers and WASPy salads. The bartender needs to learn his glasses, tho. A martini came in a double old-fashioned glass and two glasses of $50 Perrier-Jouet champagne arrived in large red wine glasses. Kinda disconcerting and weird.
It's always just so wonderful...the staff, the food, the service, the ambiance. It's my favorite place to dine !!
Very small portions and very overpriced. Service mediocre at best. Lacks the warmth that if had quite sometime ago.
I am a huge fan of NM Cafe's, and I have been to Mariposa many times previously. Today everything was off - very slow service (seemed to be understaffed) and the salad I ordered did not have the ingredients listed on the menu and was average at best.
Good food in a relaxed atmosphere. Good service and great shipping afterward. The popover can't be beat!!!! I had 2,
I love this restaurant. It has wonderful service and always consistently good food. I left a review by mistake before which got confused with a different place. This is a wonderful lunch place. I go all the time and highly recommend it.

We arrived about an hour earlier than our scheduled reservation because our plans changed. The hostess graciously seated us. That accommodation along with the attentive service from wait staff and delicious lunch choices made for a lovely afternoon.
The service was impeccable, and our server was very professional and prompt. Food was excellent and great value. We love coming in to Neiman Marcus to dine in there one of our favorites every time we come to Chicago!!!
Local friends and I meet at Mariposa several times a year. The food is excellent; the service is even better than the food; and we're never hurried.
Nice place for lunch / brunch and to get away from the crowd on Michigan Avenue- recommended
Salmon tacos were fabulous . Waiter was reallly helpful . Original calder artworks over entire restaurant.
