If you're in the mood for legit seafood in the South Side, Mariscos El Malecon is the spot. I grabbed a shrimp burrito and a couple of shrimp tacos, each taco was about $5, and the burrito was around $18. The shrimp was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped up in a warm tortilla. The vibe is chill, the staff is friendly, and they even let you BYOB. Definitely a go-to for seafood lovers.
Food was great. Service was great. We’ll definitely come back.

Bad service, I ordered a shrimp ceviche and they gave it to me without toast and I also asked for the large one and they gave me a small one and part of it had a bad taste. I won't go back

Small and quaint just how I like it. Love to support local small businesses. The entire staff is friendly. I enjoyed the music. I love that they are BYOB. Which works out great because there’s a liquor store right next to it as well as down the street. There’s also street parking no meter. I had the shrimp/fish ceviche which was delicious! Definitely will be coming back to try their empanadas, fried fish, shrimp, y Ostiones. I hear their amazing ?

Food was meh. Service not that great. She forgot to let me know there was only half an order of what I ordered and if I still wanted it, AFTER she served everyone else at our table. What threw me for a loop, was the $59.99 red snapper listed as miscellaneous. When I asked why red snapper was so expensive, she said that was the market value. That’s a lie. I’ve had lobster at fine dining cheaper than that. They fail to disclose market prices, and the waitress will charge her own gratuity of 20% and 4% of the bill if you pay with a credit card. They think people are idiots because no where at any cheap looking run of the mill restaurant is a red snapper going to cost $60 to be served with white rice and salad. This place takes advantage of their community charging fine dining prices on the SE side of Chicago. People need to stop supporting these kind of business.

I had a fantastic time at Mariscos! From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. The seafood was amazing. We had fresh oysters, juicy shrimp, and sweet crab legs. For my main dish, I had grilled salmon, and it was perfect! Crispy on the outside and soft inside. Our server was great, very attentive and knew a lot about the menu. The timing of our meal was perfect, and we never felt rushed. The place itself is beautiful, small but well maintained. The music inside this restaurant was great as well! It was a perfect spot for a night out to eat! Overall, Mariscos was awesome. Great seafood, great service, and a great atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back!
