Tamales tasted like beef liver and Papas bravas were way too salty.

I have a gluten intolerance and communicated that to our server immediately. The menu does not indicate any allergens so I was hoping he could help me narrow things down to find gluten free/safe foods to eat. To my surprise he said of the ~25 menu items, I could only safely eat 5 things. I was SO excited about this dinner so this was SO disappointing. I ordered 3/5 items from my list and everything was delicious. I can’t knock the food or atmosphere at all — it was incredible. I just can’t help but feel so sad that there weren’t more options for such a common dietary restriction.

Another excellent restaurant in Pilsen! The tuna tostada probably won best dish, but the octopus Sonoran dog won most interesting bite and something you won't find anywhere else. Our kids loved the plantain tacos so much that we got two orders of them and they ate them all before I would even have one! It is a bit pricy as the sizes are small, but I would say that all of the food was worth it.

The food was fantastic. We got small plates and enjoyed them very much, especially the tuna tostada and cobia collar. If you drive, and there's a concert about to start in Thalia Hall... good luck. I waited over a half hour just in the valet line, and that was after I was able to maneuver around the crowded streets to get into the valet line. Maybe don't drive.
we had a great time at this restaurant, it was cool to see the chefs at work and talk about each dish. Fun time and amazing food

Perfect for a casually fancy meal, and the menu lends well to anything between a snack or a full dinner with lots of shareable small plates and entrees. Our server was very kind though they were backed up from restaurant week, and every item we ordered was great. The stand outs to me were all the items from the cold menu (tuna tostada, hamachi aguachile, crab salad tostada, house mignonette with oysters was really special), the whole dorade was delicious, and definitely get the pan de elotes (so good!! So buttery! So salty! Perfectly crusty!) I’d love to come back and try everything else on the menu.

Last night my fiancé and I went to dinner before a show in Thalia Hall and had an amazing experience. We sat at the bar because seating was fully booked before the show and didn't have to wait for bar seating. We decided to order a bunch of small dishes to try a bunch of items and it was a great decision. We had 5 different dishes and left very happy. I also had the signature Michalada topped with a fresh oyster and it was fantastic! All of the food was extremely fresh and you could tell the food was made with love. We definitely will be back.
The one thing I would recommend is putting some type of heating blower just outside of the main front door to prevent blasts of cold air coming in everytime guests are entering and exiting the restaurant. The tables closest to the front door were wearing jackets during dinner service and I heard a couple say how their food was getting cold rather quickly.

Ribs and dorado fish are amazing entrees. Food was excellent. The winner of the night was the amazing flan. Probably the best I've ever had!
Food was so delicious, service spot on! Went during restaurant week and had the tuna tostada, dorade, rice/beans and flan. Everything was just amazing!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. I like to stop here for drinks with friends or a quick bite - there are plenty of options if you want a light meal. This January I came for RW and was able to try things I wouldn’t ordinarily order, like the dorade and desserts. I’m writing this review because of the latter. The guava-topped flan and the kiwi lime pie were shockingly good. DO NOT SLEEP ON THE DESSERTS!! Come for the seafood but realize that they have a sorcerer in the kitchen who will make you the best flan you’ve ever had. It seriously stole the show and this is coming from a woman who is normally indifferent to dessert.
The cocktails seemed a bit weak on this visit and there was a problem with my salad but the staff were very nice about it! They were busy with RW tables but took good care of us.
Side note, the sardine tostada is no longer on the regular menu and this should be a crime. I’m hoping it’s just a seasonal thing.
