Very fun little music venue. Great sound / lights. Extremely fair prices on drinks. Would absolutely recommend a show here if you find something on their schedule that interests you.
Always a fun venue, check it out :)
Wonderful live music venue. Never a problem ordering drinks or waiting for the bathroom. $4 old styles are nice too. I always catch Terrapin Flyer when they play here and look forward to seeing some different acts in the future
The crowd that frequents this place is chronically rude and obnoxious. A lot of hostile, aggressive, anti-social people purposely obstructing the sidewalk so people can't get by. I have seen groups of patrons refuse to move even when five or six people in a row have had to squeeze through them. There is plenty of space to stand on the sidewalk and socialize, smoke, whatever ... all they'd have to do is stand off to the side or sit at the cafe tables. No big deal. I once saw patrons being nasty to a mother with a stroller who was politely trying to get by them. What was she supposed to do, push her stroller into the street? Management: please make an effort to ensure that your patrons are behaving respectfully when they're in front of your establishment. I'm all for chilling on the sidewalk before a show ... it's fun. But maybe be cool to people who are just passing by?
Been here for a concert before, and thinking of hopefully going again for Levent Yuksel next month. As far as I remember, we had good time enjoying the music, dancing people, and ice cold drinks -for a reasonable price! The only cons would be the highly limited seats: you gotta keep on foot all the time which is not my fav kindof concert. Parking is another issue, but ain’t got anything to do with the venue. All in all, a good place for live music and concerts for a reasonable price.
This plate is the heart of the Chicago jam scene. Top notch, owner, and staff.
Love martyrs! 🩷
Great music, great staff, fun atmosphere and crowd! Great times all around!
Favorite venue for intimate shows with your favorite artists.
This is the most amazing music venue in all over USA. And trust me I have played gigs in clubs and venues hosting jazz, rock, rock n roll and all kinds of fusion bands to experimental music show, and at Martyrs you will find all that and more. They support local acts, national touring acts, world music festival and from often unique Chicago acts call this place their home. Fabulous bar, perfect ambience, and truly family run with staff that is like family there as well. I have played countless times with so many bands over here and never a bad night in my 3 decades of playing here. Bravo the Quinns. If I could give 10 stars, I would. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Watched tributasaurus David Bowie cover. Great event and venue for a live band.
Best live music venue, go!
Came on a Sunday for the honky tonk. Bit crowded but a lot of fun.
Very fun and friendly bar with a stake and a dance floor. Sunday afternoons are a blast with dancing with the Hoyle Brothers. On occasion there will be a short 2 step lesson before the band starts. Check the web site.
The best independent music venue i have been to and played
