Left to move car and checked with bouncer and said no problem getting back in being a paying customer. Came back and they wanted to wait in line to pay another cover when I had a been there for several hours. Terrible service. Gave several hours worth of service for going back on what they said. Whats the point. Then whole group left. Would have spent more.

Trivia on Wednesdays is awesome. The host Maya seriously brought so much energy. Delish chicken Cesar wrap too! Once of the best I’ve had in Chicago.

Definitely the little‑sister spot—less nostalgic, but still festive, and yes, there’s a train. The giardiniera pizza packs a serious punch, and bonus points for being open on Christmas Day.

The music at this bar IS SO BAD. we paid $5 cover to get in and they were playing slow acoustic versions of Mike posner songs. Really annoying it’s an Irish bar.

I was not allowed to enter in and eat dinner with my husband without my licenses.. I’m 35
Great private space upstairs. Enjoyed the event I attended. Friendly staff and great food. The lower level was bustling with bar guests.
Had an absolutely amazing experience at Mary Jo McGuire’s in Chicago thanks to our bartender Justin N. From the moment we walked in, he treated us, clearly out of town, with nothing but genuine respect, hospitality, and care.
When my girlfriend started feeling her drink a little too much, Justin did not hesitate for a second. He brought over water, checked in on us, and even took the time to explain the entire train system so we could get home safely. That kind of attention and kindness is rare, especially in a big city bar.
Justin made a couple of Southern folk feel like Chicago was not so intimidating after all. We will absolutely be coming back to this bar just because of him.
Could not recommend Mary Jo McGuire’s and Justin more.
