Really sort of a shame. Used to come here 20 years ago and the folks were gritty and good times. Just stopped in and the place was dead excepting one sort of hipster guy wearing a purse and the servers seemed like just young Communists. Gone soft. I hope it's working out. My kind isn't really relevant around here anymore.

Stopped in for the first time Saturday late afternoon after having Matchbox on a list of recommendations for a long time, and wow do I wish we had visited sooner. What a great first experience. The vibe was good--chill and friendly, drinks were excellent, and prices seemed fair. But what really made the place where the two excellent bartenders. I think it was Zach, and I forget the other guy's name (sorry), but they were awesome. They both knew their stuff and where super attentive and friendly. They kept the atmosphere feeling light and fun. Good bartenders make such a difference and these two were excellent. I'd highly recommend, and I'd go out of my way to stop in here again. Looking forward to the next visit.

After a concert at the Salt Shed, we were looking for a place to grab a drink within walking distance of our Airbnb, and The Matchbox did not disappoint. The drink selection was fantastic, and the atmosphere was welcoming, fun, and truly a whole vibe.
The bartenders were incredibly attentive and friendly—I wish I could remember our bartender’s name because they absolutely deserve the shoutout. We had such a great time, and if we’re ever in the area again, we’re 100% coming back!

I've made countless memories over black gimlets (either standing or sitting) - bartenders are well versed in their craft. Love it there !!
If you love dogs go to this bar! I had just lost mine so Nadia put me on the corner next to a bowl of treats... Couldn't have been thirty seconds later three pomeranians are sitting at the door. That continued thru out the night. Needless to say I didn't leave, and my soul was restored that night. Cant wait to see Nadia again!
