Excellent service and a lovely fireplace. I went Saturday night, which was very busy. Normally I go early evening during the week when it is quieter. The food is superior, not bar food at all. Just delicious. The wait staff is always pleasant and quick. This is a wonderful local spot.

A beet salad was good. A beer selection is reasonable including expensive Belgian variaties. Inexpensive, quite eclectic food selection but little more to add.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place while taking a walk through Lincoln Park one night. I immediately fell in love as soon as we walked down the stairs into this cozy late night spot. The ambiance, service, cocktails, beer list, food...amazing. I can't stop thinking about this tavern and my next visit. One of the very few spots in the city that I immediately fell hard for upon my first visit. Can't wait to go back!

Matisse is reliably consistent and delicious: food, drinks, atmosphere, service- all top quality every time. When you go: Long Islands (or their many creative craft cocktails) and Wontons are a must! Great service as usual. I always go for steak crostini and it never disappoints! Cheesy crispy goodness with perfectly cooked steak. I was seating at the bar and my bartender David C made sure I felt welcomed and was great overall! He made pearfecf martini - and the name speaks for itself. I recommend this place. It is perfect for a date or friends gathering👍🏼
