Have been eating at Matsuya for over 50 years. Still excellent. The food is top notch.Combination C is always a reliable go to.Great tempura, teriyaki anything (salmon, beef, chicken) is always great.The sushi is fresh and tasty.If you haven't eaten here, do yourself a favor.

One of the top 5 sushi restaurants in the city, even top 3. Incredible quality of fish, I really don’t know how they do it since the ocean is nowhere nearby. My parents used to go here like 30 years ago and it’s still as great! Never change!

Service was prompt as I ordered out n it ready when they said it would. Unfortunately still cannot eat inside but great for take out if we live downtown. Had shrimp n veggie tempura n Ramen as other folks rated it pretty high on reviews. Both were great n the Shoyu Ramen had the pork just perfect. It was easy to add everything together as I live just about a 5 min drive. Lots of food n didn’t feel like I had add more Ramen as it was plenty fo 2!

Can’t believe it took a pandemic for me to try this place. Always excellent sushi. We’ve done both take out and delivery and it really holds up well. The owners are really nice too. Particularly fond of their shimmy vegetable tempura and spicy tuna roll.
Sushi is pretty good but it seems the great customer service I read about in former reviews has not survived covid. I’ve ordered twice for pick-up and both times when I arrived (food supposed to be ready) they unapologetically told me it was not ready yet. When I explain the Menufy email gave me a time and it was supposed to be ready, literally no response. Just looked at me. Over 15 minutes late for a sushi order that was supposed to be ready in 40 minutes, which is a bit long for a sushi order anyway.

I visited this place nearly a year ago, and yet it is the one restaurant that I remember as being my favorite to experience when visiting Chicago. Ate here 3 times that week! Awesome staff, top-knotch food, homey atmosphere. Very memorable place!
