Well...I always have mixed feelings about this place. While the food is above average, the service could use some improvement. I have visited several times and the food is still consistent. The roast farm chicken is definitely one of my favorite items on the menu. The drinks are classic but well executed. My critique is regarding the front of the house. The main hostess has been very rude and argumentative with me in several occasions and I have witnessed the same behavior with other customers. I understand we are going through rough times with COVID-19 but as customers we are looking for fun (or even normal) places to decompress after a long day at work and not more stressful situations. Once you pass that first layer at this place then you can find competent staff that can make you feel welcome. In summary, better service with less attitude would be the way to go....specially with so many options in the neighborhood.

The staff is so friendly. The food pairings are so delicious. Stopped by today for brunch and it hit the spot. Outdoor seating is perfect ☺

One of the my favorite places in chicago. Really happy theyre open again. Sat outside recently, covid protocols were in place. Oysters, crab and cocktails, what more does one need!

A first, post-lockdown return for dinner. While having reservations for inside, noticed that the outside seating was not near capacity. Was able to switch out the indoor reservation for outdoor seating quite easily by speaking with the extremely gracious hostess. Drinks and dinner were spot-on outstanding, and were a great salve to a 6 month hiatus. Keep doing the great things you're doing, and have been doing!

We had drinks and appetizers for my friends birthday. The hostess was nice enough to set us up with a table with shade with only a couple minute wait. The tenderloin and salmon tartare were delicious and old fashioned drinks were good, my wife loved her frozen drink. Omg the salted caramel ice cream was to die for combined with the chocolate souflet pudding. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is the bitchy waitress we had, although we did know some of the other staff that did hook us up so we didn't have to deal with her as much.

Absolutely wonderful experience! The lady at the reception is exquisite, we sat outside with the music and air, the food was excellent. The steak tartare was the best! The salmon tartare would have been a lot better without that much shallots, and the foie gras was great. Such a highlight in our trip!

I live in the Champaign area. The moment I saw an opportunity, I took the train and went straight from the train to Maude's.My absolute favorite place to dine. The atmosphere is exquisite, both inside and outside. Every dish is completely craveable. Especially the mussels. The first time I ever had a Sazerac was at Maude's, and they really set the bar. I'd gone to New Orleans many times subsequently and never found a more perfect Sazerac.Best things about Maude's. Really, really awesome staff. So friendly! Flawless cocktails. Very comfortable atmosphere, and really perfect music!!The negatives.... hm. I can't think of any. I really, really love it every time I get to go to Maude's. And no, I'm not being paid. I'm just a huge fan,

This was my first time back at Maude's since before quarantine. It was a hot day so we went heavy on the raw bar items and everything was fresh and delicious. Service was great, all the staff wore masks, and overall it was a great experience. We'll be back!

One of our top 3 favorite restaurants in Chicago! Each time we walk in, the wonderful hostess Keira always remembers us. She is so sweet and seeing her is always the start to a wonderful evening. We usually like to sit at the bar and Matt and Mike are always awesome to talk to and make great drinks. The food is always excellent as well! Do yourself a favor and make sure to get the steak tartare as it's the best in the city! The burger, fries, steak, Brussels sprouts are all excellent as well.Seriously - everything is always above and beyond! Thanks for being awesome, guys!

Great service for our reservation at the bar! Food and drinks were delicious. The lyonnaise with the pork belly was the best salad I've ever had! We split a burger after oysters and shrimp cocktail. Will be back!

What a great place! I've been coming here for at least 3 years and it's always been delicious and friendly. Tonight so no exception! I sat outdoor, it was a perfect evening, and had a wonderful gin and tonic, followed by another for my meal. The foie gras was incredible and the bread so toasty yet soft! Got my meal I had the steak. Perfect in every way! The fries were of course, incredible. Everything was just great!Thank you to the staff, very attentive and friendly! I don't know the names but my sever was so good! And there hostess was a hoot and a half! I will definitely go back often!Thank you for a great evening!

One of my favorite spots in Chicago! The seafood tower and escargot are both incredible and a French 75 goes perfectly with both. I love the indoor dining area but opted for the outdoor patio last weekend due to the current circumstances. They did a great job converting the patio to safely accommodate more people. This restaurant is my go-to when recommending to friends visiting the city!

Our party of 3 dined on the patio at Maude's Saturday afternoon. After receiving a promotional email that they were now open for patio and indoor dining, my interest was piqued as I never heard of this establishment before. I used Resy to make a reservation. To my surprise, I was charged $15 for a party of 3 to confirm. Not a problem as I would expect to be charged if we did not show up for our reserved time. We arrived promptly at 4:15 and were seated. A server came to the table and poured water. We didn't see anyone again until about 15 minutes later I flagged down a manager. Apparently no one was assigned to our table as others were receiving prompt service. We ordered drinks, a salad, vegetable and the Maude's seafood tower (the most expensive item on the menu). Service was okay, however, even though our glasses were empty, no one rushed over to ask if we wanted to refill. I must admit the food was excellent, but I was more than upset when a 4% service charge was added to the bill (okay understand trying to recover fromCOVID). When I asked about crediting the $15 reservation charge to the bill, the manager saidno refunds on reservation charges. AgainI totally understand charging me if I didn't show up; however, that fee should be applied to the bill. There were several people that showed up and were seated without reservations. This example of poor customer service will prevent me from ever dining at Maude's again. My advice. DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS, you will be charged for each person on the reservation and itwill not be applied to your meal. To lose a customer who spent over $400 for an afternoon meal over a $15 reservation fee is Maude's loss. Very disappointed.

The menu and service were ahead of my expectations. We surely enjoyed the vibes of this place. Awesome spot to take the family out for dinner.
