The food and the service were excellent. We had the Signature Dry Chili Chicken, Fatty Slice Pork w/ Fresh Garlic, Wood Ear Mushroom Salad, and Szechuan Style Twice Cooked Pork. The flavors were excellent and were a highlight of my trip to Chicago!

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Chicago. The food is always cooked well and flavorful. They have a huge menu to choose from. This place gets really packed for dinner and on weekends, so we typically order takeout.

Doesn’t take reservations and wants a $10 deposit to join the wait list and stand outside in cold.

Great experience. My partner tried the spicy dried chicken and I had the dan dan style fried rice. Both dishes were incredible.

The only notable aspect was the portion size.
The food was overly salty, and the overall flavor came across as slightly bitter.
It’s unlikely that I would visit again

Flavor bombs all around. Everything we ordered was great. Don't hesitate just go. And ifs it's busy it's worth the wait.

What can I say its the best Chinese food around. They have been consistent for years. The place is small and authentic and there is always a line. Located in Chinatown. I love that they have curbside so I do not have to deal with parking. My favorites are Mongolian beef flank steak and GSO chicken and so many more but those are my go to dishes. The dumplings are amazing too. I have explored the menu and its all good. They also have a rewards program and even send me coupons saying they miss me. Highly recommend never disappoints.

Very delicious food must try, be careful there is a lot of spacy food. They can take 1 hr to sit you, however they are really fast to get your food to the table. A lot of options to choose do your homework before you go. Plates are big !

I have no photos to share of the food ordered, because it smelled so good that it was eaten within moments of hitting the table! Everything ordered was delicious, the service was very attentive, and the prices were extremely reasonable. Highly recommend if you're in Chinatown!

This is our first time at MCCB and they were busy on a Saturday afternoon. We had a party of 7 and the front desk told me there is a $20 deposit for the table. If we go somewhere else, we would lose the deposit. Which was fine since we planned on eating there anyway.

We were seated once the entire party arrived. They will not seat you until then. Service was nice. Water refilled quickly. Food arrived hot and it was delicious. We ordered the whole fish, pork belly, string beans and everything was yummy. The prices for the steamed fish was a bit high for $30 but I guess that's the standard price nowadays. Fun atmosphere with funny fake graffiti because the spelling in both Chinese AND English was way off which was funny. Will try again since the food was pretty good.

The best chinese food I've had in my life. Genuinely. Spice level was perfect for people who do want real spice but aren't complete masochists. We had crab rangoons, sichuan wantons, mapo tofu, and a vegtable I think was called choy sum with a garlic style.

fast attentive service!! first time visiting and i will be back next time i visit chicago! the seating is very close to each other but food wise the hong shao rou was so juicy and flavorful i can see why this restaurant has the top ratings and has so many awards. mapo tofu, i asked for extra spice, and it felt glassy, soft, and fragile, tasted great. the last dish special moo shu in vinegar sauce had bamboo shoots, sliced pork, zucchini, wood ear mushroom, egg, the combination was amazing

Casual fun atmosphere, solid prices (not cheap, not expensive) , ma la seasoning is a little bit low but spice level is adjustable , not overly salted (had green peppercorn fish and ma la mix). Service was fast and friendly. Has a mix of easy Americanized food with genuine Chinese Szechuan food though I felt the people looked Cantonese to me. That said; if you are wanting Szechuan food it is solid but certainly not exceptional. The wait system was easy (40 minutes at 2:30 on a Sunday) and they just text you while you wander around - just plan for it. L b
