fast attentive service!! first time visiting and i will be back next time i visit chicago! the seating is very close to each other but food wise the hong shao rou was so juicy and flavorful i can see why this restaurant has the top ratings and has so many awards. mapo tofu, i asked for extra spice, and it felt glassy, soft, and fragile, tasted great. the last dish special moo shu in vinegar sauce had bamboo shoots, sliced pork, zucchini, wood ear mushroom, egg, the combination was amazing

Casual fun atmosphere, solid prices (not cheap, not expensive) , ma la seasoning is a little bit low but spice level is adjustable , not overly salted (had green peppercorn fish and ma la mix). Service was fast and friendly. Has a mix of easy Americanized food with genuine Chinese Szechuan food though I felt the people looked Cantonese to me. That said; if you are wanting Szechuan food it is solid but certainly not exceptional. The wait system was easy (40 minutes at 2:30 on a Sunday) and they just text you while you wander around - just plan for it. L b

We attempted to eat here, but it was too crowded. They required a $10 deposit to hold your table for the 45 minute wait. The restaurant was way too small. The food is supposed to be good.

Great asian food - one of the best in Chinatown and in Chicago. Was in the Michelin guide a few years ago and I can see why.

It has a good balance of quality and price - so definitely worth it if you’re in Chinatown.

Sometimes gets very busy so might need to wait a little during busy days.

Ok. I will not say this often about Chinese food. It me its ok. Always just ok or sucks.
I could not say that here... it was excellent, the staff was really nice and attentive. Food was just amazing, we actually went back 2 x in 1 week. Now problem find parking on street and the next issue, easily 45 to 90 min wait and almost anytime. You pay a 10 hold line fee but they, take off bill.. im ok with that.. but let me tell you, its woth it

MCCB is THE best restaurant, not only in Chinatown (and that's saying a lot!) but in Chicagoland, in my opinion. I've been there a several times and has never been disappointed. Last week, we were there and waited appx 30 minutes, but well worth the wait. We ordered LOTS of food, but my favorite was the pork belly. So, so flavorful and very tender. It melted in my mouth! The sauce was SO delicious, I asked for another little bowl of rice just so I could eat up the sauce (well after the pork belly was devoured).
You will not be disappointed with anything you order here. You can also request the level of heat you prefer as everything is cooked fresh. The atmosphere is very lively and staff very friendly and efficient. I believe his name is KEVIN (who may be an owner) was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Very, very enjoyable experience and I HIGHLY, highly recommend this restaurant. You won't go wrong!!! Enjoy!!

Get the Dry Chili Chicken. I think about this meal daily and am saddened I cannot get it more often. Then again maybe that’s a good thing. There was an hour and a half wait for a table even as a party of one but it was so worth it.

The orange chicken, and dry pepper chicken were phenomenal. Crab rangoons had just enough crab and cream cheese. Great staff, and good vibe.
