I love breakfast and this exceeded all expectations. I got a very basic meal but all the ingredients were incredible! Eggs were fluffy, sausage to die for, bacon cooked perfectly! I’d definitely recommend

Excellent food and service. The eggs Benedict was great and the sauce was perfect. The kids had the chocolate pancakes and they said it was the best ever! We will be back to try the Many smoothie options they have. The Chai latte and café latte were excellent.

Today my family decided to have brunch at Meli’s on S. Halsted. We were extremely disappointed with the service, hygiene and rudeness of the staff & management. Service – It took an awfully long time for the waitress to approach our table and take our order. She arrived after I pleaded to the front desk to take the order. Hygiene – one family member found a hair in her glass of water. When we complained, they reduced the ~$64 bill by ~$4, the price for a cup of coffee and another $2 for the options surcharge. Whe did not consider this a sufficient reduction as the entrée and coffee cost ~$20, so we spoke with management as we were leaving and we’re surprised by their rude defensive response. They seemed a little dismissive of our concerns, noting that the hair was in the water and not on the food. They also mentioned that this happens occasionally. Needless to say, we were disappointed with Meli’s on S. Halsted, as we have previously enjoyed our dining experience at Meli’s on N. Wells st.

I think this ghostly restaurant is haunted. The coffee I ordered tasted like a brown ghost floated through hot water. It was so watery you could see the bottom of the mug. I've had tea darker. It was clearly the 2nd time water had been run through the beans. And the waitress only refilled the coffee once! My cup was empty for the vast majority of the meal. The eggs benedict had been lightly slimed by a yellow ghost. It was the least hollandaise I have ever seen on a benedict. The benedict was dry and flavorless. And I didn't have any coffee to help choke down the dry bread. The waitress was equally ghostly - appearing late, returning infrequently, and not refilling drinks. Finally, another ghost added surcharge to the bill that was not disclosed on the menu. They said it was removable, but it still shouldn't be added without being disclosed.

I've been coming to Meli for over 10 years. Recently started ordering delivery and noticed how inconsistent they were with food quality. started adding notes to add extra nutella because how are you going to call the below.. symphony crepes. there's no filling

We have been customers for years, but today was the end. Service and food have tanked while prices have gone up and up and up.
Cozy, classy breakfast/brunch spot. Nothing is game changing, but everything looked solid. I had a normal Benedict and my buddy got breakfast steak. I’d go back and would recommend it if you’re in the area.
