Came in looking for a favorite Tan Tan Men most similar to the taste of which we had in Tokyo. Menya Goku’s Tan Tan Men taste essentially identical to it and I’m glad to have a local restaurant that replicates the true taste of an amazing Tan Tan Men. Amazing service and environment and will return again.

Great ramen!! It is a small space and they do not do reservations so be prepared to wait if it is during busy hours. The staff is friendly and fast. The only downside is that I have seen people sit at their tables long after they have paid their check even though there is a line of people waiting to be seated but that's more reflective of the state of our society than the restaurant itself.

Really good ramen! The sides are quite tasty as well. The crispy Brussels sprouts in particular go very well as a side for ramen. Interior is clean and tastefully decorated.

It is not clear to me why this is so much better than its sister restaurant, Wasabi. This is probably the best traditional ramen place in the city. Oiistar competes but it isn't traditional and Chicago Ramen isn't in the city.
Anyway, avoid the boring tonkotsu and get anything else and be amazed. The shoyu is as picture perfect version of the ones I had in Tokyo. The tantan is frankly better than the Michelin one I had in Japan. The miso is similarly impeccable.
What is crazy is that each bowl has a different protein and each is executed deftly. Whether is it the marinated pork belly in the miso or the chicken chashu in the shoyu. And the bamboo shoots are maybe the best I have ever had. I don't know if they make their own but the flavor and texture is spot on.
Only complaint is the location is far from me and maybe the ramen is a touch too salty. Minor complaints for an awesome restaurant.

My partner's and I's go to ramen spot in the city. Really great noodles (our favorite is their tantan ramen) and amazing accomodating staff. It's a small spot so not ideal for groups larger than 8. Also keep in mind that they open later than most ramen shops at 5pm (we've forgetten plenty of times) but otherwise a great and quiet ambient spot.

Great ramen. Very pleased atmosphere and located in a quiet part of Chicago.
Gyoza are really good, and so are the takoyaki. Was pleasantly surprised by the cocktails.
