Portions were generous and sharable. The was ultimately excellent. It took a very log time one dish to be served. The server offered complimentary drinks. Things happen and they made it right. Love the decor and staff. 2 in our group were vegetarian and they accomodated. Great experience but pricey.

Great atmosphere! Service at the bar leaves a lot to be desired. If you’re gonna charge $15 for a vodka cran that was mostly ice, you can at least pretend to make conversation.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to have dinner at Mercat (the only restaurant in the hotel, by the way). Overall, it was a good experience. The Spanish food was all very highly flavored, which we enjoyed. Our bean salad was pretty cold and would have benefitted from being closer to room temp. Garlic shrimp was delicious, as were the empanadas. We also liked the steak fires, which at $42 was I believe the most expensive thing in the menu. Enough for two as part of a sharing menu. Basque cheesecake also excellent. Our only quibble was the service. Our waiter was nice but over stretched. He forgot a drink refill. I had to get up and ask for clean plates at one point in the meal. Things should be a little smoother given the prices.

First walking in, the host was great! I don't remember his name, but he was GREAT! The server felt too comfortable and not polished. Her service was that of Applebees and I wasn't a fan of it. The food runners were great! The food is really still so good! I could eat that giant bean salad every day! WOW! It's been about 15 years since I've been here and it still hits. Keep it up!

Delicious! And a cool space inside the classic Blackstone hotel. Pretty quiet on a snowy Friday night -

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants--an easy five stars--with a unique interior, lovely views of Grant Park, and the best paella in the city. When I went last night, however, the paellas were gone from the menu. I was told that they are redoing their menu and that we were not the first to ask about it.

We had a show and didn't have time to go elsewhere, so we stayed and ordered a selection of tapas, which ranged from just okay to pretty good.

To be clear, this is still a perfectly decent restaurant--but nothing I had last night rises to the level of the paellas they pointlessly tossed off the menu, and there are many places that simply have better offerings than what remains, particularly at this high a price point. Unless and until they add the paellas back, I really wouldn't bother going here.

We had 8 adults, and everyone commented how absolutely delicious the meal was. We shared I don't even know how many tapas, but there were a lot of them! All yum. Recommended!

Has been a favorite forever but hadn't gone in years and was so pleased to return and it be the same great quality! Food was amazing and our server was so sweet and attentive. Only disappointment was they were completely out of sangria for a 5:30pm reservation. Food came hot and perfectly paced out and portion sizes were perfect

The food was delicious and portions are good for Tapas/Small plates. The staff is amazing and attentive and the drinks were top notch. The view of Grant Park/Michigan Ave is perfect for date night

beautiful setting! Food was mostly very good but I think our paella was a bit burned on top. Wine was excellent.

My daughter and I had a pre-theatre dinner here and loved everything! The food was decently portioned and the flavors very authentic to being in Spain! The room was beautifully decorated for the holidays and it was a very fun vibe!
