I asked for the order TO GO.
The cashier set the box with my croissant on the counter with the top open. I repeated that I asked for it "to go". She said "I can close it for you" - which she did. Did she think "to go" meant walking out with the top open on a food item?
Then my drink came - it was filled to the top and I had to carefully walk over to the supplies counter to get a lid and carefully put the top on so the drink wouldn't carefully spill over the side.
Finally, when I took a sip of the matcha latte it was lukewarm. if you order a HOT latte - you should get a HOT latte.
Perhaps the barista was in a hurry to get back to his book.
I'm not the person who wants to ask for their drink to be remade - so I went on with my day.
However, I was given the strong impression no one cared about or understood the idea of being a "service" business.
And yes, I tipped ahead when I paid for my order.

Cute coffee shop loved the art work but was less than impressed by the lattes. We got a vanilla one and a specialty holiday latte and the texture was off the milk was super watery and thin. Maybe they use skim or 2% but it wasn't for us. Would not go again.

I've had the displeasure of trying to drink the coffee they sell under their aspire coffeworks partnered brand. Nescafe instant is better.

Live in the neighborhood and come in all the time on my dog walks and have never had any issues, in fact greeted with a pup cup regularly. My partner went today as normal and was rudely greeted by the manager about our dog not being a service animal, and that she is the manager in charge. If this is your policy, then why is the rest of your employees not on the same page? Why has this never been an issue before until today? Sad that you guys have lost our business completely over how poorly this situation was handled.

I’ve ordered three products Via mail
Sawada Project X coffee
Sawada Matcha
El Salvador Finca España
My daughter loves the Matcha.
Project X is a full bodied, well balanced, and delicious coffee
El Salvador finca España is a unique and exceptional coffee. It has great balance and a wonderful flavor profile. It’s a little fruit forward with great balance and mouthfeel. It taste like berries with High-quality dark chocolate And has a dry finish. I highly recommend this and personally prefer it after it’s cooled down for about 15 minutes
I love this place and its almond croissants!
We come here every so often to get their egg and cheese hand pies, which are so good I regret not getting 2 for myself every time. Their cold brew(in the can) elevates my soul to another level every time I take that first sip. Amazing.

There's always hype about going to Metropolis. It was my first and will be my last time going there. The service was very poor. I was first in line and had waited to be served. I should have just walked out. No one greeted me. It was a very bad experience. Will never go back.

Neat little coffee place, seemed to have variety for bakery options but not a lot of options for dairy.
Parking: Parking lot near is very small but to be fair it's Chicago & free but probably only about 8-10 space plus some handi-cap spots.

Always take coffee here , before go to work. That's why my work so active.
Lovely shop, awful employees, just awful. I was smiling and happy when I walked in, and they made sure to change that. Every one of the employees where blatantly rude to me. Top it off, the coffee is as good as the employees' attitudes.

Nice bike rack at front entrance to lock your bike. Nice outdoor bench too. Great Lake Shore bike path destination from downtown, 8 miles. Coffee and pastries are great and reasonable. Nice employees. Lots of Loyola college kids but seating turnover is pretty fast. A few Geezers like me READING NEWSPAPERS, BOOKS, and TALKING with no techie stuff, tattoos or piercings. Damn, where did I go wrong but I paid with my Apple Watch! Ha! This place is pretty dope!
Parking: Bike rack in front.
