This place was amazing.Our waiter was amazing! He took the time to explain some of the food options on the menu and also gave us proper service. He wasn’t bugging us but also knew and checked in when it was needed.The food….WOW. We started with the salsa tomatillo and guacamole and it was clearly made well and was so tasty! I had the brisket tacos and Mac and cheese. Both were so good!We also had the street corn, potatoes and one of us has the red snapper and we weren’t disappointed at all!!!The only small draw back we felt was that it was very loaded. Not music but the volume of the entire restaurant.But besides the noise, this will definitely be a place I personally always come back to!

Mercadito Mexican Restaurant in Chicago exceeded all expectations! Their shrimp tacos were simply unbelievable—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. But the excitement didn't stop there! The downstairs tequila bar added a whole new level of fun to the experience. The ambiance was vibrant, the drinks were top-notch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. If you're in Chicago and craving authentic Mexican cuisine paired with a great time, Mercadito is the place to be.

A great little gem in River North. Despite arriving a few minutes behind schedule on a busy Saturday night, the hostess was pleasant and directed us to our table. Our server, Jose, went above and beyond to accommodate us, making our experience memorable. The food, beverages, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations.We will return. ?

I’ve been there several times! I always have a nice time! The Pineapple guacamole was delicious! Service was excellent!
Our server Jose was attentive, friendly and welcoming. Carlos the bartender was friendly and his drinks were delicious. Rafael the manager checked on us a couple of times. The atmosphere was perfect, the food was delicious. Highly recommend the homemade guacamole and pepino margaritas. One of my favorite places for happy hour and dinner.

The staff at this location were terrible at my recent visit, ruining the atmosphere and experience. I never leave bad reviews at restaurants, but this one left me a really bad taste in my mouth. I would not recommended this place at all and would put 0 stars if I could.

I have typically been a fan of this place, unfortunately that changed tonight.I hadn’t been here in a while… I was there this evening with a friend and while they were busy- they were by no means at capacity (plenty of open tables). Despite this fact, we were really being rushed…there’s a difference between being attentive and being rushed. We had small plates we were using for the appetizers and shareables and those were removed with food still on them- I thought they would have asked if we were done. Dessert is as removed before we were done.Once we got the check the server literally paced back and forth until she saw me put my credit card in the pocketbook. She was very friendly about it, but pushing is pushing…once we finished with the check- my friend was finishing her drink since we had paid the server kept asking if we were ok…. (3 times in 14 minutes, not that I was counting) we’re fine- we’re trying to have a conversation if you don’t mind…I mean between my friend and I our check was $280 roughly so it’s not like we were water drinking squatters sitting for hours and hours at a table…Food is still decent, but nothing you can’t get at other places like Tzuco, and definitely a much more relaxed experience. If I want fast food I’ll go to a drive through…. ?

Service was great, and the food came out very fast. It was quiet when we went, so I'm sure that helped. The guacamole was fantastic. The brisket tacos, the shrimp tacos, and the Mahi Mahi tacos were all amazing and unique flavors.
