Swinging by mfk. for dinner. Grabbed the suzuki crudo, Spanish tortilla, and a 16‑oz beer—food’s fresh and tasty with that seaside vibe. Cozy, dim basement feels chill & intimate. Staff was warm and helpful. Portion size’s decent, but a couple dishes left me wanting more bang for the buck. Still, solid spot for a Lake View date night.

Lindsey really made this a 10/10 dining experience for me! She had great recommendations and all of items were timed perfectly for me as a solo diner. My favorites were the anchovies with salted butter, shrimp gazpacho and tortilla espanola. The sangria was just strong enough and not overly sweet. They have a great wine list and I’ll try out some cocktails next time. In terms of ambiance, it’s a very small restaurant that’s perfect for a solo dinner or date night.

The best Spanish restaurant I tried in Chicago area. We really enjoyed good seafood dishes. The service and vibe were also fantastic — highly recommended!

I highly recommend coming here for their strong attention to detail and absolutely stupendous food. It was a special celebration for us and we were made to feel welcome and were so well treated. Our server what’s extremely attentive, both anticipating what we might need and stepping back when we were in conversation.

Visited mfk. in Lakeview and spent around $80 on a seafood-focused meal. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with seaside-inspired decor. I tried the seared scallops with persimmon gazpacho and the roasted parsnips with mole amarillo. The scallops were cooked well, and the mole added a unique twist. However, the portions were smaller than expected for the price. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Overall, a pleasant experience but not outstanding.

FIDEO JUST GO GET THE FIDEO. But seriously that was unbelievably delicious and unique. Every piece of seafood was cooked to perfection. The cream sauce was rich without being heavy. The server was very knowledgeable about the food and liquor. My partner got a martini and said it was the best one he has ever had!! I love how quaint it is. You really feel like you're in someone's home. I highly recommend :)

The ambience was great. Sangria had too much juice in it, it was so sweet, like dessert wine. The food was overpriced for what it was, very underwhelming. Service was impeccable. However, for me, the food in the restaurant is the most important thing and it was disappointing.

I rarely leave reviews but this is one of my top restaurants in Chicago after last night’s dinner. We ordered the Foie Gras tapa and Fideos pasta dish as well as the Cider Braised pork shoulder. Each dish was phenomenal and my tastebuds were so happy! Foie gras was buttery and delicious. The pasta had fresh shrimp, pork (however they roasted this had a perfect smoky flavor i don’t know how they did it), and mussels that were all cooked to perfection. Each protein in the dish had their own unique flavors balanced in harmony with a delectable saffron cream sauce. The pork shoulder (my boyfriend’s favorite dish of the night) was tender, umami, and slightly sweet from the cider/apple which I always welcome. Authentic cuisine from Basque Country of Spain, the Sangria was also impressive as well as the iconic basque cake <3 I know they have a rotating menu so I’m excited to stop here in the future to try new things but I secretly hope they keep all of the menu items we tried. There are only a few tables in the restaurant so the experience was very special. Service, meal, and ambiance 10/10.
