Amazing food, ,drinks, service and atmosphere! Our group of 6 tried everything from chips & salsa, guac, and carnitas along with polpo/octopus, steak burrito, chicken/garlic crème and other new items on the menu…all were perfect with such great flavors. The choices of mezcal while allowing our server and bartender to make choices for gave our group the perfect blend of everything for a full experience! Thank you!

All the food was seasoned perfectly which I think many restaraunts of this level struggle to do. Standouts were the pork tenderloin dish, fish tacos, and the squash blossom atolados.

We were too busy eating to take photos. Everything was timed out perfectly! Started with the best guacamole, then the amazing Carnitas de Pancita, moved on to the Aguachile de Camaron, which blew our minds, then beautiful Squash Blossom Atoladas, and rounded off our experience with the Coliflor Ahumado Fundido. Holy cow. Finished with, of course, the Tres Leches. Everything burst with flavors. Highly recommend. Will be back.

Without PBS cooking shows I would not have known about this incredible newer restaurant. Tocaya did not disappoint in standing out and being different from other Mexican restaurants. Be prepared that the meals are priced higher than traditional Mexican restaurants with smaller portions.
There was so many unique dishes to try, a sampler or fixed course menu could be useful. The fish tacos were the best dish ordered at the table.

We've been here multiple times and have never been let down. It's a great spot for every day dining but we especially love to bring out of town friends and celebrate special occasions here. The food is always top notch and so lovingly thought out. We routinely go to Michelin starred restaurants and Mi Tocaya is our favorite place to eat in Chicago.
We recently went to their New Years Eve Pre Fixe dinner, something different than the normal menu. Chef Davila explained every dish and everything was a 10/10. We'll be back a million more times.
Just been here for to Drink and some snacks . Very nice location and super friendly staff. Safe surroundings. Loved the atmosphere in the Restaurant.

Came here with my wife for our first wedding anniversary. Food was good but felt a bit over priced.
The high top chairs are the most uncomfortable chairs to eat a meal in. I won’t return or recommend this place based on the chairs at all.
Overall disappointing. We were excited to celebrate the occasion but left feeling rather tepid. 🫤

Steak burrito was solid but way too salty, would’ve given 5 stars if not for the insane amount of salt in it
The food was worth going back, again and again.

I am not a shrimp lover, but the aguachile de camaron had a great combination of fresh flavors and spice. I do love mole, and the mole with the chicken lollipops might be my all-time favorite. Amazing flan. Exceptional steak burrito. Tres leches and the octopus also impressed us.
Recommended dishes: Steak Burrito, Aguachile De Camaron
