Michael's Original Pizzeria & Tavern

pizza was good quality, but the sauce was too sweet for my liking. just preference. obviously many people love it.

Truly my favorite restaurant in Chicago.

We've been coming to Michael's for 10 years and the service has been amazing and consistent every time. The staff is always friendly and welcoming- they even remember us even when it's been a while in between visits.

The food is great, the prices are fair (and inexpensive compared to other Chicago restaurants) and they always provide a great atmosphere for watching a game or just having dinner.

I personally love their wings, cheesy beef and burgers- but you can't go wrong with their pizza. We get the tavern style, but their deep dish is excellent too

Like most deep dish spots in Chicago, be prepared to wait — both for a table and for the pizza itself. But the wait was worth it. The deep dish was fantastic, with rich flavors and a perfectly crisp crust. Service was great too — friendly, attentive, and kept things moving as best they could.

We were pleasantly surprised by the buffalo shrimp appetizer — not something you’d expect to stand out at a pizza place, but they were delicious. Also, the beer prices were really reasonable, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Got takeout and it was great. On par with Pats pizza IMO. The tavern style is super super thin crust. The price is amazing and comes with a liter of soda. The atmosphere was really lively and fun when I stopped in for pickup. I def recommend getting Michael’s.
