This restaurant was such a special experience! I went with my mom and sister and we had a great time. Great food and lovely chef! The decorations were so cute!

Yebeg Tibs: solid dish but missing the complexity of the above two. A little flat. 4/5

Zil-Zil Tibs: a bit chewy beef and more like a simple stir fry. Missing all the spices the other first 2 dishes had. 3/5

Excellent food and fantastic atmosphere. Everything was fresh and you can tell is made with care. Great value for the price, serving are generous. Staff were very friendly. Atmosphere is great for dining in. Definitely will visit again to try more of the menu!

I never thought Ethiopian food in Uptown could get any better. But then, in comes Michuu and the brilliant owner chef, Demi. Guys, this place just knocks it out of the park! The injera is always gluten free, the servings are huge, and the ingredients are unbelievably fresh. Over all that, Demi cooks each dish herself. The taste is vibrant and covers the full range from the saline umami of her collard greens to the slight sweet and citric zing in the spiced beets. The lamb dishes are my top choice, soft and warming. You’ll feel like you’ve been invited to the home of a dear friend. BYOB

We are repeat customers here at Michuu, it’s our favorite Ethiopian spot in Chicago now. The owner is so warm and delightful and makes the most incredible food, you can taste the love and care in every bite. The coffee after dinner was beautifully served and perfectly roasted. We love it here.

Delicious! Injera was especially good and freshly made. Doro wat was excellent. Clearly a family-run business. Met the chef who takes great pride in her cooking. Highly recommend.
