What a cute place! The vibe is very artisanal and chill, and you just know you’re going to have a really good meal here.

I had slices of the Soppressata with hot honey pizza and the mushroom pizza, both were amazing, but the Soppressata was my favorite. The salad was also extremely good!

They even offer a great lunch special: a slice and a salad for just $10. Such a great spot to relax and enjoy seriously good food.

One of the best pizza places in town.

I came on a Tuesday to finally try their thin crust and boy they did not disappoint.

I got a half and half pepperoni and veggie and it was a glorious experience. The crust was SO incredibly thin, crunching satisfyingly with each bite. Their cheese, sauce, and toppings are also delicious, making for an incredible pizza. For dessert I had the soft serve with a side of smashed berries and a double shot of espresso. If you’re looking for a simple vanilla berry sundae, this is it.

Food: perfect.

Service: fantastic.

Atmosphere: airy and bright, welcoming, invites you into the process (you can see the ovens and even sit across them).

Everything about this place is excellent. Their “tavern” style pizza was incredible, cracker-thin and served here with sausage and shishito peppers. The style is a little different than the usual tavern style pie, a class of its own with A+ crust, cheese, sauce (the special here was a touch sweet, which I liked), and toppings.

Can’t say enough about the service. Came here alone at about 4:30pm on a Tuesday, and the place was already getting busy. Still, I got seated immediately at the bar, and the bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the process behind the beer and pizza. Helped recommend me both the nights/ special pizza and the nice Pilsner, which was the best version of that beer I’ve ever had. I need to come back here to show this place off to friends.

We came for lunch and waited for a half an hour for three slices of pizza, despite the restaurant not being crowded. Strangely enough, the pizza wasn’t even hot when it came out, which makes the wait even more inexplicable. The food was good, but unbelievably slow and you’re locked into paying the full service charge regardless.

I’ll start with the good stuff. I love this place. I’ve been at least 4 times in the last few years when I have been in town. The food was really good. The sardines and bread were really yummy and the olives with the raisins were really a nice added sweetness. The pizza crust was really chewy and done very well.

2nd, I will say there was a little confusion on our part about a gluten free crust. We thought we called and did not, so when we asked about a gluten free crust the response from the server was not one of regret that they did not have one, it was a condescending response. Yes there’s flour everywhere, it’s sour dough so that’s good, but there’s gluten everywhere.

Ok, our bad we messed up.

Drinks, ordered 2 rose’ and a Zinfandel…It comes and it’s a white wine? What? No one has a white zin anymore? A Zin is a red wine. It’s not 1987! We drank it. They kinda offered to replace it but they didn’t make us feel like it wasn’t our fault? Weird. I drank it. Wasn’t great.

So The response to the no gluten free crust was, there’s a big salad that you can have for dinner. Ok. Let’s share a salad between the 4 of us and the gluten free person will have their own salad. Great. Out comes 3- $18 salads and put on the table. Oh! We ordered 2 salads. The server responds…(after they are in the table) well, I can take one off the table and you will be charged for 2 salads or I can leave it and you will get charged for 3. What would you like me to do? (what? Ok just leave it.) They were huge. There’s no way to eat 3 of these huge salads. We did our best. Still got charged for 3 $18 salads. Should have told her to take it, again made us feel that it was our fault.

Pizzas were good.

My last issue, 21% automatic gratuity. You know what would have helped tonight? The server having to be nice and not condescending and working for a gratuity. I waited tables. If you don’t have to be a good server for a tip, there’s no reason to be a GOOD SERVER!!!

Super disappointing evening. Vibe was way off tonight.

Tavern Tuesday review:

The tavern style pizza is one of the best in the city.

The beer is sublime.

The bar is lively and extremely busy. The music wasn't too loud on our visit and we had good service with the server checking in multiple times.

I would have tipped at least 20% anyway so the automatic 21% isn't going to send me spiraling and it's very clearly labeled and communicated prior to and during payment.

Offensively expensive. Food was good, lackluster service at best - feels ridiculous to have a built-in service fee of 21.1% and then provide next to no service.

We were there late, barely squeaked our order in before the kitchen closed. Vibe was cool, service was spotty: a little slow but very friendly. The pizza was excellent, the cocktails were a mix of OK to good. Dog friendly patio.

Went in for tavern Tuesday. We were told a 45 min wait, and it ended up being over 1.5hrs. When we finally were seated after asking a couple of times, we were told we could only get 1 pizza for 2 people. Absolutely ridiculous. And not to mention we saw other 2 seaters with two pizzas. . Don't make us wait 1.5 hours to tell us this. If this is your ridiculous policy, tell your customers up front. After I asked to speak to the manager about this, our server came back, rudely said we can order whatever we want, and then walked away without taking drinks or any food. She then disappeared for 15 ish minutes, Mayber more, and only came back when I asked another worker to get her. She obviously didn't want anything to do with us. We are now 2hrs in total, and finally we're able to order food. Pizza actually came quick. Server again was non existent, and we had to flag her down twice more. The pizza was fine, but not worth this experience, and I'm unsure if I'd come back. There are many other pizza options around. And don't even get me started on the mandatory 21% gratuity added to the bill. I always tip that, but gratuity isn't guaranteed. Pay your servers a fair wage.
