This black family owned restaurant at 81st and Stony is GREAT! I had a cheeseburger w/everything and their freshly cut fries that hit the spot after a long day in Chi traffic. Be sure to get their special BBQ sauce. I put it on my cheeseburger and it made it perfect. They have veg./vegan and beyond meat options on the menu. Everything is so fresh! They have a parking lot too!Parking: The paved and fenced parking lot is right adjacent to the restaurant entrance.

Positive side: Ample parking, clean establishment, dine in options, friendly staff, reasonable priced, and flavourful food (well seasoned - especially the wings!)Room for improvement: drying of the grease...it was non existent for this order. Grease was everywhere!Disappointed: outside of the heavy grease ...no where on the menu did it say the nacho burger came with vegan or turkey bacon; however, my sandwich had it...it threw the whole taste offOverall...would i recommend! The wings?! Yes Ma'am! If you are from the south...you will love the flavor!

Tried them for the first time, got a chicken sandwhich with shake total came out to 25¿ i got charged extra for sauce that came on the burger but wanted it on the side. Ordered thru uber eats a steak burger not seasoned fries not seasoned barely hot and fried pickles dlso greasy it clogged my arteries just look at them the bag was soak in grease.... strawberry milkshake the only good thing about my meal...smh I wondered why it was always looking empty I see why

1st issue, we don't take phone orders ? So if I am on lunch I can't order my food for pick up?2nd food took 40 minutes to get ready not only late returning to work but watched another well known customer come in and pick up his food right away, which shows they only take phone orders from certain individuals3rd 2 burgers 1 Italian beef $50.00, my kid didn't like her double cheese burger and my Italian beef was slightly dipped like I asked but he didn't tell me that he was going to soak it nacho cheese uggghhhhh!!!! Didn't even let me know they use nacho cheese instead of regular cheese. If you are in a hurry and want decent food this is not the place to go.

I ordered a Italian Beef with fries. They have Boss Sauce that's hot and tangy. The food is very tasty and the service was great.
Was just driving down Stony Island, saw the Retro Grill sign and just took a chance and came in. May-nnnn. I'm so glad I did. Super friendly staff.Had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a vanilla shake.The burger was absolutely delicious. Juicy, flavorful and hitting on all cylinders.The fries were fresh cut, like homemade. I loved them and they have various sauces that u can chose from that u can have added or on the side for ur fries. I had the signature sauce. Sweet and savory. No boring ketchup unless that's what u like.Music playing in the background took me back to my younger days. Jamming from the time, I walked in until I finished my meal and walked out.I recommend this place if u are looking for some great food, fresh off the grill made to order and some music from back in the day to make u swing, sway and sing along. Then head on over to the Retro Grill on Stony. You'll be glad you did. Just like me.

This cutely designed grill is very eye catching as you drive on Stony Island Ave in Chicago.The staff was friendly with all of the customers while I was there from the time I walked in the doorThis is a family owned restaurant with savory and delicious food. There were so many items that I wish I could try. This was my first time at this restaurant so I ordered the wings with the Boss Sauce on the side and the jerk fries. Everything was so yummy and perfectly seasoned.I will definitely go back. They have vegan options and a salmon burger that looks intoxicatingly delectable! You have to try them. I do not believe you can go wrong with anything you order.
