Best place to eat in Chicago! I started going there when the owner became a client of the company I was working for in the mid-90s, setting up cash registers in the restaurant he opened for his nephew. I no longer live in Chicago, but make it a point to stop there and speak with the owner every chance I get. Always great food and exceptional service! You may have to wait in line, though. Understandably, it's a very popular place!
We went there for lunch the other day. They were out of prime rib and out of the lamb. So ordered a ruben and salad. The sandwich was soggy and not that tasty and the salad was wilted. Service was ok, but the food as mediocre for being so pricey!
My wife and I went last night and it was great. We are both gluten free (my wife for medical reasons) and our server was knowledgeable about our dietary restrictions.
We share the ribs which were amazing, tender, flavorful, and delicious. We had the Cole slaw and rice for side and it was more than enough food.
The atmosphere is great ‘old school’ pub with plenty of TVs to watch sports.
