Mindy’s, what can I say? 10 stars out of 5.
Delicious baked goods and coffee. The staff members are even sweeter.

Extremely nice staff, very hard to pick from menu (everything looks so good) but the staff was very helpful answering all of my questions.

Mindy's is one of the biggest mysteries of the Chicago food scene. For all its hype and the consistently long lines on the weekends, the pastries are average, at best. The store's strategy seems to be to hide its mediocrity by loading up the desserts with flavors and add-ons that distract from the actual product. Try a plain croissant (instead of the hot fudge monstrosity) and you'll see what I mean. That said, the bagels are very good and I will go on a weekday afternoon, with no lines, to get myself a dozen to freeze. But having visited the shop over the past couple years and seen increasing prices on other products (a bag of hot chocolate now sells for $30 instead of $25, ice cream is now $13 a pint) it's likely only a matter of time before I decide the bagels aren't worth the price tag, either.

The only place in Chicago I’ll stand in line for. The baked goods change every day. All of it is amazing, no bad choices. I usually get too much, yet it’s never enough.

Best bagels in the city ? pastries are always amazing as well. They usually sell out daily so go early and prepare to potentially stand in line outside ??

The pastry I bought lacked any flavor at all. Very expensive bread for the quality.

Never had ANYTHING there that wasn't delicious! Menu always adding new, fun items. Worth the line if there is one and it moves fast!

We love Mindy's Bakery. They have phenomenal baking goods, and they sell their sour dough started for those who are interested!

Outstanding pastries at Mindy’s!! Quiche and bagels were the highlights for me. This is a take-away style bakery, so don’t expect toasted bagels to go with your other pastries.

If you like pastries and baked goods I suggest you go here. They're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays though

Kid-friendliness: They treated my kid with respect even though he shares a bank account with his mother

Pretty overrated imo. It's fine but for the wait and the price there's plenty of great desserts in this city
